With all of the things going on in the world we have found that we needed another set of hands here at OFC. We have asked a long time friend and active member of the board to help out. Misfish or Brian has stepped up to the plate and has accepted the position of Administrator to help us deal with the management and problem solving issues that pop up occasionally. We want everyone to give a warm welcome to Brian and to know he is here to help with any issues that you might have. OFC

For float fishing I've been using Sunline Super Sniper for many years. For my heavier set ups I use Seaguar Blue Label

I have not use leader specific material in years. It was hard for me to justify buy a 25 yard spool of leader material in 6-8lb test when I could get fluorocarbon spools of 200 yards for double the price. With that being the case, I absolutely love Tatsu but the price of it turns me to alternate solutions. Like mentioned quite a few times, I use Sunline FC sniper. At half the price of Tatsu, it is not quite just as good but I would say about 85-90% there. If you truly want leader material, they offer that in a 50 yard spool in FC sniper as well.

i personally throw spybaits on a baitcasting outfit. Im kinda lucky though, years ago as I was building my arsenal of fishing rods and i picked up an oldschool loomis CBR783c on the cheap. Its supposed to be a ML cranking rod, but its kinda weird, its almost overly parabolic. I guess it may be great for throwing really small cranks...either way sure enough, its a bloody perfect spybait rod. Because of its gummyness it has a delayed load which i find actually allows the fish to choke the spybait before they feel the resistance of the rod. When the rod was made I dont even think the spybait was invented yet.

Pulled a little guy out between some rocks, love seeing the wake appear out of nowhere behind your lure’s wake and see the fish match your increased reel speed all the way to the boat.

Evac order was lifted on Wednesday at 1 pm. I got home about 7 pm last night. Home and stuff in town is OK and as far as I know my cabin is OK.

Let’s not make generalizations or be political. I most certainly believe in man made climate change, but I also don’t believe in destroying a bunch of existing motors purely because corn growing lobbyists demand it. id love to own a new fuel efficient four stroke, who wouldn’t. Unfortunately what I can afford doesn’t allow for it. That doesn’t mean it’s a great idea to effectively destroy every two stroke engine in canada and throw them into the landfill.

the Spit has truly become one of the city's gems. Wild life, city views etc. A great respite although the cormorants, if they're still there, were a blight that killed off many trees. Great that you helped build up a local escape for many !

I don't think there can be any secret spots in the GTA anymore...When I was a young lad living in the east end (TO) we used the TTC to get to the Grenadier Pond in High Park or to the ferry boats to the Islands or Humber Bay, Etobicoke creek or the Credit River...There is also the Leslie Street Spit or Ashbridges Bay for carp...Eastwards there was Highland Creek, Rouge River and Frenchman's Bay (both open water and ice fishing at Frenchman's) I have to add that I haven't been a young lad for many years (70) and lots have changed since when I last fished there...Best of luck !
