  1. After years of dependable fun with the Yamadoo I had to retire her I sure missed her so after a couple of years I need to build another one I have a side by side cfmoto uforce 800 and decided to put tracks on her. The wheels on. UTV sit way forward where as an atv rear wheels are right at the back of the machine, so the same system would not work So I had to make a whole new axle and way to attach it to the bike Well introducing. The CF MotoSki I still need smaller tires on the front so it has the same forward movement as the tracks so I can run it in 4 wheel drive but the hard work is done and she will be running the ice come winter

  2. Dealership I'm with and mechanic I only use and trust has looked over some Alumacrafts these past few years and he thinks they're pretty awesome! I do too. I like that 2XB hull biz, I did own a smaller Alumacraft tiller for a time and was happy with the ride.

  8. As a mechanic I've work probably half my tradesman's life under cars/trucks with stands holding them up off the ground. If they placed properly with the base square to the floor and square to the frame of whatever; you'd have a hard time to push a car/truck or boat trailer off the stand. After setting the stands and you're worried, get back about 20 feet from whatever is on the stands. Run at it like a linebacker going for a tackle. After hitting it and after you've woke up from being knocked unconcise; check to see if the stands have moved??? LOL Dan...

  9. I lower the tongue all the way down to the floor with it sitting on my trolley jack, put the stands under the back and then lift the tongue back up to get the tires clear of the ground and crank the tongue jack down to hold for the winter.. remove trolley jack.

  10. Not to change the subject, but still in storage mode. Do you do anything with your boat's trailer? Suggest putting it on blocks. Blocks under the frame that'll support at least half the travel of the springs free height. Sitting static for any length of time could cause the springs to sag, if all the boat's weight is left on it. Dan..

  11. Do you need too, MAYBE NOT? Does it hurt too, NO Do I recommend it, YES Intake valves and guides on a wet 4 stroke engine's manifold (fuel passing through) does not have any form of protection from condensation, while sitting over the winter; its only seen fuel. Same as direct injected engines, which are famous for accumulating deposits on the back of intake valves, where condensation can be absorbed and turn into something like cement. Giving the intake assembly any form of oily film will also help prevent the formation of oxidation on the shiny bits. When I stored customer's vehicles for the winter, I always fogged them. If there were an issue doing so I would have heard of it. These were the customer's summer time babies. Never had a hung up valve or seized piston ring doing so. Dan..

  12. Some guys like to spray a little oil right in the spark plug holes just to ensure that everywhere has a nice thin layer of oil to stop corrosion. personally what’s far more important is to ensure that you have no ethanol in your system at all. The damage it does corroding and eating gaskets after long storage is ridiculous.

  13. Absolutely not, the reason we bought the alumacraft was because we wanted that top of the line kind of quality at a lower price point, plus the ability to easily run a yamaha…that’s what we went with and it’s been bulletproof. the 2xb hull is right there with the best aluminum hull ride qualities I have experienced. That includes lund tyee and north river. I think my old man has one other complaint actually, the port side storage compartment on the Gunnal tends to take on a little bit of water when it rains. They didn’t do a good job at diverting water from getting into it. In the same light, I’ve never had a boat that’s kept compartments bone dry when you put them out in the rain. I typically end up having to open up my compartments to dry out the boat after a hard rain anyways. the issue here is that the boat cover that he has doesn’t perfectly cover that storage compartment and therefore he gets some water in it. I think if you leave any boat out in the rain full time the compartments are going to get wet. maybe someone wants to counter me on this one? But I’m on my third fishing boat a skeeter, and now a stratos and the alumacraft and they have all been the same as far as I’m concerned. I think sometimes that’s related to the level of humidity that builds in them when they are left shut. The areas of carpet that Are squeezed together in the compartment areas stays wet unless you open them.

  14. I bought an Alumacraft Escape 165 this year and I am DELIGHTED with it. Mine is a tiller boat. Fabulous ride, roomy layout, and a 40 hp Yamaha pushes it as fast as I wish to go in a fishing boat. I would have bought a Starcraft or a Lund if I had found the model I wanted for the money I was willing to pay, but I am very pleased with this purchase. Doug
