  1. More from our Argo adventures: we have been working to make a trail back into what is known locally as the chain of lakes, (I use to fish these lakes 50 years ago) I don't think they are named on any maps. You can walk in to them, I am guessing it's about 3 miles from the nearest road access but it's a tough walk through some pretty dense bush. You can portage in but again a really rough go through some creaks and swamps. Anyway using a combination of river, swamp, and roughing a trail through the bush we now have access. Last weekend we finally had a chance to get back in there fishing, amazing would be an understatement! We typically don't weigh or measure our fish unless there is a slot to worry about but in the picture of my son holding up the stringer of fish, well he has big hands so you can get an idea of the size. I included the other picture so you can see just how comfortable these things are, notice sock feet, clean, dry. We could never do things like this without the Argo.

  3. I have their jacket and it is LIGHT and waterproof. But I don't actually trust it in the woods, where I am getting thorns etc tug at my clothing. I don't want to tear a really expensive jacket! In the woods I wear a much older set of Cabela's gear, and it is good stuff but too hot for summer fishing. My summer weight rain jacket is from MEC, and I had it out in today's rain, in the woods. I was still dry after a couple hours of steady drizzle, but it was not a serious downpour - when that happens, the MEC jacket gives me a couple hours, tops, before I start getting damp. Must look into that conditioning stuff. Old dog, new tricks...........🙄 Doug

  4. Exactly, and even then sometimes you will see areas that seemingly should be holding fish, but alas, you fish it and get skunked. I’ve learned on g bay, if you aren’t getting bit, keep moving. When you find fish, fish the area well.

  6. Fish relate to many factors and finding two or more of them will be considered productive water meaning there are fish there to catch if they are feeding. Dead water is where you have one or less factors and no fish are in the area. It could be no structure, wrong temperature, no weed lines, or other factors. Every place and species have their preference as to where they are comfortable. Art

  7. A trip to Baie Fine is well worth the run with the family, if you need a day trip. Be sure to check conditions before leaving as it can get pretty nasty on Frazier Bay. There's also Topaz Lake that is a hike, but a fantastic diving and swimming lake. You can access it about half way down Baie Fine. There are rainbow on the south side of both Badgeley and Centre Islands as well as the bay on the north east corner of Centre Island. Hit the drop offs. Follow the markers out of Killarney and you will be good. HH

  8. Alright thanks! I wasn’t planning on trout fishing so that shouldn’t be a problem anyway.

  9. I have had my Frogg togg river jacket now for 3 years . I have not one complaint about it . Keeps me dry, even in a down pour I got caught in .I really like the pull string hood with the long beak and the neoprene cuffs . It is the pilot 3 . I do not have the bib,as I wear waders. https://www.froggtoggs.com/pilot-3-wading-jacket
