  1. The trip was great and just what we needed. Caught one laker jigging with a worm. We boated loads of small mouth bass, with four over 18 inches. Found a few large mouth bass but from what we heard most were in the canoe only section of the lake, on the north side of the park. Got two nice pike and about a hundred blue gills and sunfish, some a very decent size. Launch was great and lots of room to leave the boat at the dock the days we were there. Met the young wardens when they stopped by to get me to back up my truck a little further into the camp site. We will be going back for sure to try for some more Lakers. Thanks for the tips everyone

  2. Did up the sons order of balanced jigs as requested. He nailed fish all spring on them,so he asked for a bunch more. He twitches them under a float . Now to get 3 more orders out for his buddies.

  3. I say buy them both . You choose which one you want to fish from ,and I will fish from the other . We can compare notes after a season on the water. LOL I would go with the Crestliner myself. I will add though, after your last post,I took a gander at some boats around here on the www . The prices are way out to lunch IMO. $14 G for a basic 16ft with a 30 hp and trailer. That is just nuts. A boat like Bills, is like 45 G +. Nuts I say, NUTS

  4. Oh the choices. Wider heavier boat may not be as fast/efficient (although bigger max hp would take care of the speed.) Wider boat would be nice it you have more than yourself in the boat, but if you are mostly solo as you said the smaller boat just might make everything that little bit easier. Too bad we can't test drive boats the way we do cars. Boat v boat performance and different size motors on the same boat to make the best comparisons.

  5. Thats plenty of gas for a 50hp 4 stoke engine. I can fish for days and days on a 25L tank with my 40 yamaha. No need to haul around any more than that anyways. If your going so far that you need more, just bring it in gerry cans. S.

  6. I'm thinking of a new boat (again). One I'm interested in the the Lund 1650 Angler. One deal breaker is the 6.5 portable gas tank. For a near 17' boat with a 50hp engine. What were they thinking?

  7. Supply (down) and demand (up a bunch). I don't wonder if I couldn't sell my rig that I've had for 8 years for the same price I paid for it.

  8. Id get whatever one you can get with a yamaha engine. I personally like that crestliner more, and I'm a tiller guy. S.

  10. 250lbs really isn't much of a difference. That's like having a buddy in the boat. I've got a Lund but I'd pick the boat with the best layout for you. Built in gas tank on the Crestliner would be a big plus as well. If you're fishing smaller lakes with crappier ramps I'd really consider a roller trailer and perhaps a Drotto which will make loading/launching easier.

  11. No lie…it’s shaping up to be a goretex type of weekend lollll im most upset about the fact that my stupid boat makes changing a bilge nearly impossible without ripping all of the batteries and wiring out. I don’t have an auto bilge in my boat and with the rain warning now up for tonight into tomorrow I guess it means I gotta constantly throw my boat in and out of the water. tight lines and good luck to anyone headed out this morning! I’m on my way out.

  14. For reference I have a 16 foot princecraft side console with a 50hp 4 stroke Johnson (2003). Three days of running and trolling on Nipissing this spring and when I went to add gas to the tank before going out this week I couldn't even add 10 litres to the tank. The motors are so efficient that a tank that size is fine (I would think that today's engines are even better than one that is almost 20 years old). I do have a second tank that I bring sometimes if I'm remote and/or I'm worried about finding no-ethinol gas. For me I like having 2 tanks rather than one big one b/c I don't have to worry about old gas.

  15. Samsung and many other tv's have poor quality parts, especially the capacitors which are a $10 piece. Mine gave out at 18 months and I was able to get it repaired. At the same time my 18 month old LG fridge died.. manufacturers know that they are building crap but they also know people have a very short attention span and they love shiny new things. I hope that one day someone files a class action lawsuit on behalf of consumers..

  16. This was filmed in Stoney Creek on one take. I suspect that the drone was slowed down at certain points.. I'm impressed with the flying skills either way.
