  3. Hey Guys, I know I normally write my reports on a semi annual basis, but I figured I owed my dude Taro (www.fishfishcitytours.com) a plug on here after the day we had on Simcoe with him yesterday. If youve watched Taro on Youtube you already know the guy is an absolute riot in the boat. A trip fishing with him is entertainment enough without the catching What honestly was really really finicky bite all day long with far far too many fish turning off of our baits was still absolutely one for the books. This wasnt a day where we caught and caught and caught, It took picking 1 active fish out of an entire school of monsters over and over. It took persistence, half hour boat runs for spot changes, countless bait changes and countless tactical changes. I couldnt even image how insane the day could have been if the bass werent been spooky finicky and behaved a little more "spawnish" and aggressive. One things certain Taro absolutely grinded it out for us for literally 11 and a half hours with us on the water yesterday and was prepared to go longer until a lightning storm took us off of the lake. He threw the absolute book a the fish and by the end of the day we had an absolutely stupid 5 fish 27+LB** bag...yes...you read that right...27lbs 😵 (the two 6's required a leech) without the live bait our bag was still in the 25lb range...absolutely bloody ridiculous. Heres a sample of the goods, ill upload more photos in my next report...but Oh My GOD!

  4. Was a dock foreman for a few years and have seen some close calls and only 1 collision causing damage to the vessels. In every situation where the boat got out of control alcohol was a factor.

  5. Finally a morning were it was over cast and not so hot. Grabbed the fly rod and headed to a shore line access on the bay here. My toon is dry docked til I get back to work and able to order a new bladder . Was nice to just sit with a light drizzle of rain, while flicking the rod and catching what ever would take a fly . Lots of perch and rock bass around for entertainment, and some nice smallies too. Two took a wet fly, the other, which unbutton right after the pic, on a mini leech pattern.

  7. Especially when shore fishing, always carry a bag to pick up garbage, fishing line etc. On the water always picking Styrofoam worm containers etc.!

  8. i try to remember bags but it is tough. I basically could bring an entire garbage bag full of garbage out every single time i go fishing which is pretty sad when you think about it. Gotta love the bank fisherman classic though, a pack of busch cans scattered, a few packs of canadian classic smokes and a styrofoam worm container. Every single person here thats river fished, knows exactly what I am talking about.

  10. Just seeing this today Brian, I have been away from computer land for awhile. It is too late to try for this year but I would recommend Fafard Veranda Mix for any of your container growing. Once Debbe discovered it for our Flower pots at home and the cottage we have used nothing else. It really holds water well. The front of our cottage is all windows and we have a 7 foot deep roof overhanging the porch...so in the afternoon the sun just shines in there and the windows reflect heat and the roof traps the heat so it is very common for it to be 35-40 celsius on our front porch in the afternoon sun. And with all this going on our flower pots get watered twice a week during the weather we have had lately but most of the season when the weather is not as extremely hot or dry once a week is enough. Like I said Brian for containers we use nothing else but the Fafard Veranda Mix.. A local nursery here in Oshawa has it every year and I grab two 112 litre size bags, but judging from your pictures I think one bag would possible get you through 2 seasons. However having said that I would also recommend you go with bigger pots for next season. More soil equals more water retention and more room for root growth. I really enjoy tending my veggie and herb gardens and my planters with herbs at the cottage. There is just something I really enjoy about growing food and it looks like the bug has bit you too. Good luck with whatever path you choose Brian.
