  1. So after 30 years of owning a tin boat , I finally bought a new fishing boat. It may be small but it is just me and my dog. It is a 2020 Alumicraft escape with a 50 hp Yamaha. Now t he fun begins, I have not bought any new boat gear in many years so What are my needs. I was looking at a terrova 55lb 12 volt running of a AGM 31 series battery . Not sure about fish finder to be honest i never really used the old one except for depth but i would like GPS maps but nothing to fancy Then of course all the little odds and ends that you all have added to make fishing life better. So here is you chance build my boat to a fishing machine. Boat is coming soon so i have to get shopping Where do you guys by your stuff. Thanks Everyone

  2. I had a response to a thread I did a while back when I made my clousers . Buddy said I should tie some on a siwash hooks for behind dodgers for salmon trolling. So i did and wait to hear back how they work. The green and black one has a trailer hook. It stuck me like 6 X tying the front hook.😂 Hooks I used are super sharp and strong The trailer one. I call it,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I BITE BACK

  3. The store has come through again for me. I just wished they had other colors. This bulk bag of some black fiber I found for only $4 bucks . I am not sure if it is synthetic or not, but it will make great streamer and dubbing material. Will be tying it up Tuesday on some jig heads. Oh I also found my new stream trout net. $4 too, and will do the job. I can take the Ninja Turtle piece off, but that just would not be right. LOL Hey,look at that cool guy,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

  5. Well looks like Barrie is getting greedy too, they're just about to vote on the augmenting the non resident parking to $50 a day at the municipal lots. The citiots figure people will park further inside the city to visit stores and spend money. If people are going to the beach/boat launch, then I'd surmise their initial intention was to go to the beach, not shopping.

  7. I think we are going to turn on comments and see how it goes. People are posting things that seem to request replies. Hopefully it will go well if it does then we will keep it going if not we will turn them off again. Art

  8. My trolling motor is a 55lb and it pulls my 16 foot along fine.. of course a 24 volt would last a lot longer but battery weight will be an issue unless you spend big bucks on lithium.. I second a helix 7 and if you like to ride up front with the electric then you may want another sonar up there.. if your budget allowed it I would network another helix..

  9. As OhioFisherman said, there is currently no way to reply to posts in this section of the board. I would call that a problem.

  10. Who do you think you're kidding. That's the reason you bought it in the first place. 😉

  11. I'd tie them with a second hook facing up as a stinger , dodger fly was the hot setup 40+ years ago when Lake Ontario was Coho fishery. Blue zone ( but that name evolved later ) 20 feet down, Red Luhr Jensen dodger blue Jonsfly , six feet behind the ball , Cohoes all summer until they stacked up at the mouths.

  14. Brian, try going with less hackle, sizes to the hook! (1.5-2 times hook gape)Ive tied some 16s. Not fun for my old eyes. Ive also tied lots of klinkhammers in 14 and 16 lately. Parachute post are easy and the sighter really helps old eyes! Lol! Sure wish i had a river close by!
