  1. Good morning Lew I was out this morning. I made my way out using my Shakespeare 55lb thrust electric motor. Top notch and gets me out there quick at a high speed of 3.6 mph. That 3 blade prop sure is sweet. My toon, built in china and shipped here to Canada, is one of the top ones out there. I was jigging with my awesomely fabricated Spro 1 pc 6.6 ft rod. Matched up with a ABU 4500 reel filled with power pro 30 lb test with a 8 ft,10 lb floro carbon leader. Great brand that Sufix is. I was using my home tied fly swim bait today. Great tied fly by that guy. I blame all the above sponsored products, as I did not catch anything . Still, thanks to my sponsors for allowing me to get out,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, 🤣 Have a great day B

  2. Address of the store for the Rods is in the OP it's rod only, not a combo, so If you need a reel to go with it, I visited the Highland Hills location yesterday (875 Highland Rd W, Kitchener, ON N2N 2Y2) to see if they had any Fraser Farm Meatballs & Gravy that I saw there in the past (sadly I never saw any) & saw they had Zebco 202 Spincast Reels there for $4:

  3. Hey it’s a $4 rod...if I was close to Kitchener I’d buy 3-4 just to give out to my neighbours kids. That’s how kids get into fishing and enjoying the outdoors. Not starting with Stradics!! Letto, pm me the address of the Dollarama as I may be in Cambridge this week. There’s 4 young boys on my street that might need a new rod!

  4. I stopped watching TV fishing shows years ago mainly because most of them are nothing more than Infomercials and IMO the worst was always Fishful Thinking. I came in the den at 9:00 this morning and turned on the TV and sure enough it was Fishful Thinking. I wondered if anything had changed and sat down to watch it. Only took a couple minutes and he hooked into a Lake O salmon and by the time he had the fish in the boat he'd advertised ... I think ...7 different products. I turned it off and I spose it'll be another 5 years before I watch another fishing show.

  6. Reopens on Monday, maintaining the groups no larger than 5, unless from the same household, policy. https://news.ontario.ca/ene/en/2020/05/backcountry-camping-available-at-ontario-parks-and-on-crown-lands-starting-june-1.html?utm_source=ondemand&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=m&fbclid=IwAR0hgZ9IeXouMSWChPi9J59ihoq3EjmKPSBvfag6OdYLtLuQOOGvyRBGREs

  7. Just wanted to give a heads up that if you're boating on Georgian Bay to be very careful if you don't know the water especially when venturing outside of the buoys. The water this year is the highest that I have seen it in 20+ years. Entire islands are now submerged just below the surface. Lots of potential hazards out there. Good news is that the high water has given a lot more spawning areas for Bass this year. Be careful guys.

  8. Let me know if they move the dates. I buy a non resident NY State Licence every year and didn’t get to use mine either! I won’t hold my breath!

  9. Don't see why they wouldn't adjust the dates! But it is government so you never know! LOL Good luck!

  10. Probably will be able to change them, but check with the licencing site to be sure. Wasn't aware you could pre plan the days you fished, when buying a non resident licence. Alway thought the 8 days started the day after you bought it. I get one for a relative who visits every few years and that was the case 5 years ago. Looks like that has changed?

  11. I watch Fishful Thinking because he takes more time to show and explain how to use whatever presentation than other fishing shows. I also have emailed questions to him and he responded within a day and sometimes within hours. Dave Mercer Facts of Fishing show is also top notch as well as Fish'n Canada. I don't mind the sponsor plugs as that is how the hosts get paid

  12. You seem to really dislike young people and think they’re all stupid. Here’s an article you might find interesting: https://www.google.ca/amp/s/amp.theatlantic.com/amp/article/609832/

  13. When you see a Shimano for $4 just keep on walkin.

  14. Agreed, this would be an easy thing to do with the modern motor's ECU. Most new 2 strokes (powersports) add extra oil during a 2 phase break-in period.

  15. Break in is super important. In fact, for years we’ve wondered why outboard companies don’t do assembly line break in’s. No fuel, just a mechanical run with lubricant. It’s not identical to real running conditions but it would sure help against the knobs that go out and see how fast their new boat will go first weekend! Lol Or maybe rpm limits paired with the hours meter? The costs would be high but so are warranty costs and damage to brand image.
