  1. It just seems unfair to me to paint all long term care homes as cesspools of negligence and death when the report that started this whole discussion is very specific to certain privately run homes. Demanding government intervention to help a private company that continues to pay dividends and has the extra cash to make improvements and is wilfully choosing not to doesn’t fly with me.
  2. My understanding was that the issues were primarily in private nursing homes. Shouldn’t that be up to the private companies themselves that continued to pay dividends to fix their own problems?
  3. You seem to really dislike young people and think they’re all stupid. Here’s an article you might find interesting: https://www.google.ca/amp/s/amp.theatlantic.com/amp/article/609832/
  4. I’ll agree that you’re right about the level of risk being far less because you actually took some precautions, my point was just to give more consideration to people who live without yards and physical space (indoor and outdoor). You don’t want to live in a renovation, they didn’t want to be stuck in a 400 square foot apartment they share with roommates. None of that is good for anyone’s health. There aren’t many outdoor spaces in downtown Toronto, so I’m not surprised it filled up like it did on a nice day. Should the cops have enforced the distancing and made people stay apart? Absolutely. But crapping on people because they wanted to go outside and get some air after two months inside is totally unfair in my book.
  5. You could make the same argument about going to Home Depot and going to the park. Is your renovation essential? In all likely hood it could have waited until this wall over. You can’t say people can’t be locked up for much longer and criticize people for going to the park. There was no line up to get in (I assume I wasn’t there) but do you think Home Depot would be any less of a zoo if they didn’t force people to line up? It just seems hypocritical to criticize these people for spending time outside for when your renovation project and trips to hardware stores are probably not necessary
  6. I actually recognize both of your machines from when we were out. If we ever head back up there I’ll give you guys a shout. It’d be fun to wash some lures together.
  7. Yup, that was us. We poked holes all over the place but that was the most consistent spot. Didn’t hurt that we were staying at Temagami Shores so we were able to stay out later and avoid a nighttime snowmobile ride
  8. We were up there this weekend too, but in the eastern bay. Lots of lookers but few takers for us. The fish just didn’t seem to be hungry.
  9. Hitting and kicking players and using the N-word wasn’t cool 20 years ago either. There’s no point looking to blame the players for Bill Peters’ issues, it’s all his own doing.
  10. I wouldn’t say the players quit, they weee playing a still that they aren’t meant to play You can’t buy a mustang and expect to drive it like a Jeep. That’s what happened here. Dubas built a team based on skill and speed and Babcock wanted them to play a grinding game that doesn’t match the skill set. It’s not a surprise it didn’t work
  11. Never fished, but have been there before. It’s not as warm as Bahamas, so if you’re looking for similar fishing you might be disappointed
  12. Don’s intention was to say people he thinks are immigrants don’t wear poppies. How do we know this? He stood by what he said. You can’t go back and spin what he said to make it more palatable. He refused to apologize and is now gone. I’m not even going to get into why he thinks the people he sees are immigrants. The surprising thing is that after he’s said about Europeans, indigenous people, etc it was a poppy that got him fired.
  13. Thanks for the tips everyone! My daughter is 15 months old, so she’s not quite up for fishing yet. I’m just looking to throw a line out and see what bites. I’m not expecting anything crazy, I’d just like to get something to feel a tug on the end of the line (I haven’t had a chance to go fishing in a long while) thanks again for the help!!
  14. Hi there, Has anyone here ever tried fishing from shore on Lake Erie near Wheatley? My family rented a cottage right on the lake and I was hoping to do some fishing after my little one goes to bed. I’ve fished from shore before on big water on Lake Abitibi and had some success using just a pickerel rig. Would that be the ticket here or is there anything better to use? Am I just wasting my time? thanks!
