  1. Susan Dale Bignell Sept. 17, 1946 - Oct. 4, 2017 😥 She started each day with an “I love you!” and she meant it I could tell. Then her face would light up with a mischievous grin, It was a look I knew so well. She would look at me with her big blue eyes, you could see the laughter there. Then she’d shake her head and the sunlight danced, from the streaks in her golden hair. She always had time for a hug and a kiss, she always wore a smile. No matter how busy her day became, she’d listen to me for a while. She always made me feel like a king, or at least let me think that I am. But one thing in this world I’ll never doubt, and that is that I was her man. She ended each day as it began, with one more “I love you!” Then she’d cuddle up and I’d hold her tight, you see, I loved her too! Forever in my heart! Clifford S Bignell

  3. When one walks the river, you hear many chats about . I have run into guys from the past days of river fishing, but never have I knew them nor their names. I would just ear drop and hear things. You know, we caught this there and here, oh you should of seen the one I got last week. This one conversation this morning had me listening. I even stopped drifting to hear this. I just stood there in the water, lit up a cigar and listened. My gawd, the story they were telling made me so thankful I no longer fish these areas they were talking about. During one part of their talk,I piped up. Seems it has got to the point where fishing in the southern tribs has gotten worse since the 80,s. I mentioned the clay banks at ErinDale. Oh the conversation got good. The younger fellas had some good stories. Back when I fished it,it was probly 20 or so guys shoulder to shoulder and everyone got along. Mostly cuz we were all regulars. Now,it,s 40-70 guys. There are even threats and fistacuffs. WOW UNREAL The older fella and I, had a good chat about another river system down that way. We both remembered many things from back in the day. It was good to share the old times. We pretty much fished the same stretches. I told him since I moved up here,I have never even thought about heading down there to fish. Funny thing,he moved up here as well and said the same thing. We are starting to get the crowds up here now, but when the cold sets in,the numbers lower greatly. Also I have spots to get away from them,so have ater. Shame that it has gotten to this on the river. Thought I would share my sorta feel good back in the day chat. BTW, it was -1 this morning for about 2 hours on the river. Didn't reach +4 til 11 am. 1 shaker hook up ,a jump and spit. It,s a start.

  4. Cisco, The small ones under the slot size really make you ask yourself " do I really want to fillet these"? I threw them back and kept the bass hoping for pike or 2 but when no pikes volunteered I threw the bass back too. Can't help thinking about the charters on St. Clair that have a clothes line of walleye hanging!

  5. I think the total for the 3 of us were 8-10 walleye and 5-8 bass. We broke off 3 lines that could of been pike. We ran light action rods with light line and didnt target Pike as we already do pretty well with them. I think that total was great as we always find it tough in the Fall. Followed up yesterday by myself in the brutal weather and ended with 2 small walleye and lots of panfish, impossible to stay on spot as it was whitecaps all morning. Calmed down in West Bay with a nice fat 5lb Bass off Ant Island. Beautiful fish but no fight.

  7. I’ve been there twice in the last few years and hooked up with a fly fishing guide service bonefishcozumel.com. I now have him as a friend on Facebook and we keep in touch regularly. Alberto is top notch. Fantastic trips on the north end of the island with miles of skinny water and tons of fish. Three days in total and double digit bonefish everyday. You don’t need to fly fish at all either. They do spinning outfits too and I pack my own travel rod with 2500 series reel. Bonefish love small bucktails and swim jigs. He ties his own and they work incredible. The Berkeley swim jigs in 3” were killer too with bright colour jig heads. Never really used anything else. loads of barracuda, jacks and snapper around too. I stayed at the north end resorts and each day walked the beach and cast the surf. Lots of little jacks

  9. So you are saying that these 500 UN scientists are not paid by interest groups to report that climate change is a hoax?? As ordinary citizens, we have no clue what goes on behind closed doors with the corporations and the politicians. None of us have any idea. Its just our opinions is all. Some believe it some don't. For me as a conservationist and environmentalist, who believes in protecting our natural resources, I will support any action that helps with the reduction of any pollutants that impact our daily lives. No one on OFC is an expert at this. Its just peoples opinions. What we can do as a group is support any actions that will help with reducing all emissions that impact our life. Fishing, Hunting etc...

  10. We are all aware that NASA is at the forefront of tracking the changes associated with climate change right? They are an agency that works with multiple countries all over the world for the purposes of developing science and knowledge related to not only space exploration but also understanding the very planet we live on. They don’t maintain a specific political agenda specifically because canadian, British, US, Russian, Chinese politics all don’t mesh. The work that is done in outer space and by the agency sole purpose is to Complete scientific observation. They are the only type of organization that has satellites in outer space monitoring our planet. Their resume, I would argue speaks for itself? People walking on the moon, Rovers driving around on mars...I’d say their scientists are pretty decent? The government that funds their operations is actually anti-climate change. So can someone please explain the conspiracy theory surrounding the science that the 20,000 people employed by NASA are engaging in? I mean if it’s all lies? As we all know the more people that know a secret the harder it is to keep.

  11. We need to control the name calling or group labeling. If you have facts just present them. We all will have opinions and if they are right or wrong you need to respect them or I will lock this. I think it is more important for us to be friends than any discussion we have over the internet that divides this group. Art

  12. Big square bottom net is invaluable when landing big toothy critters, and sometimes it's better to leave her in the net and work from the outside while cutting those hooks. You can use your long nosed pliers to grip the hooks while you cut them and hopefully keep your hands while she thrashes....and she will. LOL Looks like a nice fish there and congrats.
