  2. Hi Ed You should have a good time on Balsam it has a good population of Pike and has some nice Walleyes . I sent you a message let me know which end the lake you are staying at I might be able to help . Good Luck Hank Jr
  3. Jerk baits for pike would be the ticket. They aren't very picky. Slip floats and small plastics for the crappie. Remember they feed 'up' so don't run a lead that's too long. Walleye you'll wanna be rip jigging in any weeds you find, they should still be fairly shallow depending on water temps.
  4. That was on the Credit, I remember that vid LOL
  5. Huh? One of those groups has very different rights than the other two.
  6. I think it does make a difference
  7. Does it really matter who is doing it, Canadians, Americans or Indigenous ? Until everyone is treat fairly the same nothing will change.
  8. I agree , I gave an explanation as to why they are cheating, in no way said they should do it As a matter of fact I said they should have had greater punishment
  9. A couple of years ago…some “new Canadians” posted an entire video showing them running around netting and then spearing salmon in one of the rivers. They then put their full legal names in the credits and posted it to YouTube. needless to say, charges were laid 😂
  10. If commercial moose hunting is not sustainable, then the law exists for a reason. especially for foreigners…
  11. I just think the motor looks cool when straight and supported on the trailer.
  12. It seems the MNR does "come down on someone based on a pic". Don't get me wrong, the example in the link is apples and oranges compared to the photo that was posted here...but it looks like the CO's do troll the fishing forums on-line.. https://www.orilliamatters.com/local-news/social-media-photos-of-lake-sturgeon-net-fines-for-local-anglers-1639609
  13. If you're looking for the closest good Chinook fishing to Ottawa, then it's the west side of Prince Edward County. A number of years ago, I would regularly fish out of Wellington in July. Classic spots like Scotch Bonnet would consistently produce the biggest Salmon during the first half of the "Great Salmon Hunt" derby. These were mostly US fish that would disappear by early August. Lately, the local Angler's Club pen raises Chinooks to maintain a summer long fishery. Scott Walcott from "Bay of Quinte Charters" still takes his boat over to Wellington for the month of July. He also owns West Lake Willows Resort, if you're looking for a place to stay. He runs a 35ft Kingfisher. There's also a few other guys that run charters out of Wellington and Brighton that time of year.
  14. Yeah, but the CIA, at least years ago had no jurisdiction. So if that is still the case you will have to present it to the FBI. I do know a couple FBI agents, one in LA and the other in Orlando from way back when, retired, but one is still active when his expertise is called upon. The other, a gal in Florida, is now a game warden, got sick of the politics in FBI. I should have sent this to her just for laughs.
  15. Last week
  16. Call up the CIA and stick it into their computer for sending coded messages, shouldn't take long.
  17. Well you got four words right but the others are way off. This is bugging the Hell out of me as I want to disclose what it is but I can't, I had to figure it out for myself. The last part is obviously the easiest. I'm happy you are taking part in this. If more guys come on board it would be interesting to see who figures it out first. I believe you have a head start. I wish I could offer a prize. Bragging rights will have to do. I just thought it would be something fun for a change for those who have the time and like a challenge.
  18. Well, I'll make an attempt. I get the following words in no particular order. Refresh, Fisherman, Mother, Hooked, Whale, Oil and Beef with a bunch of left over letters. I'm going for an Excedrin or 2 now. I'm bordering on the 7 decades shortly.
  19. Why keep it in the first place? If its for table fair, the smaller sizes are wayyy better eating. Eliminates the issue entirely. My opinion is that they should all fined as no doubt they were all part of it.
  20. Hey Ark, as usual you make a lot of sense. This happens to many of us and sure, we shouldn't snap a pic or weigh it but if we're careful about the time out of water, i'd say go for it. Now, maybe the pic could be prefaced with "my grandson last fall" to CYA but this is a pretty small forum so I don't think its an issue. Also, pretty hard for the MNR to come down on someone based on a pic. They should be focusing their efforts on the poachers. Case and point, I was in the long point inner bay last may and there was a ton of people fishing. Now there is a sanctuary which it appeared that they were honoring but outside of that it was game on. I mentioned to a few fishermen about the season restrictions and the location of the sanctuary and certainly got some dirty looks! Now if you ask why I was there its because I had a new boat and I was going through the break in procedure. I didn't even have a rod in the boat.
  21. Hahaha, hey Fisherman, not intentionally, in my 7 story years, not that you guys are all as old, I try and keep my brain active, what's left of it anyway. I came across this back in the early 70's when I worked for a commercial fisherman and have surprisingly, never forgotten it.
  22. You trying to give us a brain tumour, lol.
  23. I understand you, my fellow anglers of the OFC have more important issues at hand, I don't even know why I thought of this. I expect some of you are familiar with it. Just thought it would be good for a laugh. Hope some of you get a kick out of it and can put it into words LOL. EMRFESHEMRNOTFESHEMR2FESHCDEDBDIZEWHALEOILBEEFHOOKEDEMAREFESH.
  24. If it climbs up the tree to get you, it's a black bear. If it knocks the tree down to get you, it's a Grizzly.
