Not sure but the previous owner did retrofit this motor...it was a manual start that he converted to an electric and could very well have added a kill? And if they did would it affect the starter motor? Yes my 1977 Merc has one. But remember the motor in question was converted to electric start aftermarket. Might not have a kill switch.
