Charging batteries I just bought..

Just bought a G27 deep cycle and a dual purpose 24 Marine. Based on the charger I have (see attached) what should I put my charging settings at?

a buddy who is an electrician says use the highest amps you have for charging deep cycle batteries.

But I would buy an intelligent battery charger that shuts off when the battery is fully charged..............

I’ve always charged at the highest amp rating, and used the trickle for occasional maintenance.   Shag is not wrong, we recently got a smart charger for the place up north and it’s pretty sweet, but sometimes you have to dance with what brung you!

For ATV/SeaDoo and batteries of the like we say 2A/12V for 5 to 6 hours the first time for a new unit.

I'll check out the intelligent charger... So could you "over charge" with what I got?  No risk of damage?

CTC has their Nautilus charger on this week at $91.99.  I bought one yesterday:

I have the original nautilus charger, it’s nowhere near as smart, but I’ve had it for 20 something years and it keeps on ticking.  Looks like a good buy to me!

10a auto, should drop down to maintenance (2a) when the battery gets to a high enough charge level.

The one I got seems to be working well... Batteries seem good 

 

may just stick to what I got for now.
