blaque Posted February 7, 2017 Report Posted February 7, 2017 Glad to see you got the camera back out ............these are great
Ralph Field Posted February 7, 2017 Report Posted February 7, 2017 Excellent photos ! This is the only way I get to see these owls.
BillM Posted February 7, 2017 Author Report Posted February 7, 2017 (edited) Thanks, but I'm having major issues with this new 7d mk ii I picked up.. I think it's going back to Canon for calibration. It hunts like crazy when in AI Servo mode (Which is what I use all the time for birds in flight) which leads to tonnes of front and back focusing. To be honest, my 70d was better out of the box, lol. Rodbender Posted February 7, 2017 Report Posted February 7, 2017 Thanks, but I'm having major issues with this new 7d mk ii I picked up.. I think it's going back to Canon for calibration. Have you fine tuned your lens in camera?
BillM Posted February 7, 2017 Author Report Posted February 7, 2017 I've got FoCal 2.0, so I'll see if it requires from microadjustment, but the changes I made in the field the other day didn't help at all (Tried anywhere from -20 to +20) What sucks is that I know it's not the lens, it was razor sharp on my 70d.
Rodbender Posted February 7, 2017 Report Posted February 7, 2017 My D7100 was at -15 my new D7200 is at 0
BillM Posted February 7, 2017 Author Report Posted February 7, 2017 I hope FoCal can fix the issue, it's just a bugger doing that @ 400mm lol.
Rodbender Posted February 7, 2017 Report Posted February 7, 2017 (edited) I do it manually with my 150-500 set a yard stick up at 80' on a 45 and place a survey maker to focus on Edited February 7, 2017 by Rodbender
BillM Posted February 7, 2017 Author Report Posted February 7, 2017 That's not a bad idea. I'll see what I can figure out.
misfish Posted February 7, 2017 Report Posted February 7, 2017 As usual, I have been watching, nothing for me. Great shots buddy.
BillM Posted February 8, 2017 Author Report Posted February 8, 2017 (edited) Brian, I saw one the other day on the roof of Canplas Industries besides St.Louis bar and grill (Veterans and Caplan). I'm not to sure if he's going to call that place home or was just migrating, but it seems like a decent area. Looked like a female (Lots of grey) Edited February 8, 2017 by BillM
