Hi all,

The weather has taken a drastic change here. Last week -30C this week and for the next 2 weeks day temps all in the +plus range. The ice road is going to take a beating. Will be looking to get my shack off this week. There is still plenty of ice, over 4 feet at my shack, but the road will become rutted and slushy with deep water in no time, not for the faint hearted traveller(or the smart one).

I only put the shack out at the end of January but it has been a regular hang out for the whole family and a gathering place for friends too, very awesome little shack! Its great to pick Jack up from school and head straight there, especially when the fish are biting, nothing big, but enough to have got Jack excited about ice fishing, JOB DONE!

My new frying pan also added to the fun, with the almighty 'Shack BLT' making its debut.

VIDEO
I will hopefully get some video of the shack removal this week, could be interesting. Definitely be getting some footage of another removal next weekend of my buddy's shack as we try to get it off Thunder Lake.
Spring has really SPRUNG here, not long before some big pike from the lawn and some crappie hunting in the boat.
Tight lines!
Si.

I am available for adoption as either his sibling or surrogate Grand Dad.

He's been asking for a brother, I'll run it by him tonight, might be a harder sell to the wife though.

Hey don't get too excited, we're still in for another 6 weeks of the hard stuff lol

Nice semi windup, sure thaws a lot faster then it freezes. Jack's a born pro, nice set up Simon!!!

LOL…yup plenty of ice there. It might be around for 6 weeks, not thinking I wanna be on it in 6 weeks though.

Hahaha simon nice pic!

Jack is thinkin "dad, can I get some polarized sun glasses"?

LOL…he hates wearing sunglasses, his eyelashes are really, really, long and touch the front of the lenses.

Awesome pix & great video. I like Jack's "hand hold" ! The blue snow shovel! Hilarious!

LOL…he has a pair of black gloves in the shack, but they were slimed and frozen stiff, he opted for the shovel.
