Sight fishing BIG crappie.

Hi all,

Went out today with no expectation to catch. To my surprise the water temperature was 63F in the south facing bays. After wading through a couple hundred small pike I found some crappie, in about 1'FOW, just sunning themselves, but not shy enough to ignore a fat minnow under a slip bobber, great fun sight fishing crappie. Got a nice walleye and an 18" smallie too.

Solid fish! You're lucky you're so far from Toronto.

#1 sin is to name a crappie lake. lol.

If I rent a school bus. We could put 3 14ft tinnies on top and fit about 50 anglers in it. Anyone game? LOL

Those are grand slam slabs there Simon. Nice.

them some slabs. Do you not keep the pike for eating I much prefer them to walleye.

X2. Actually I prefer perch, bluegills crappie and small pike over walleye. We have a cottage in the kawartha's and I haven't harvested a walleye in over 10 years up there.

Looks like a good day Simon :clapping: Thx for sharing it with us.
