manitoubass2 Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 These refs need to put their whistles away. yeppers

davey buoy Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 awesome. beat the slovaks and the refs. They defineatly played better the last half.WTG
manitoubass2 Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 That shift leading to the go ahead goal was a thing of beauty!
Steve Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 yep, its like we got MAD when McDavid's goal was disallowed. great stuff!
kickingfrog Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 The other hockey powers are catching up and I think hockey Canada needs to rethink the way they pick these teams. Another factor is goaltending. Whether or not it's just a down cycle or something more, we've not had the type of goaltending that we now need at this level.
tb4me Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 (edited) I didn't see a great game by the Canadian jr's I seen a great 3rd period. Its hard to believe they are all under 18.. The future is bright for Canadian hockey.. I agree we have to work on our goal-tending as a whole. If this the best we have were in trouble for the next few years.. Edited December 30, 2013 by tb4me
tb4me Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 It is an under 20 tournament. yes it is but if im not mistaken our team is all under 18.. could be wrong but ya.....
lookinforwalleye Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 Goaltending has been a issue since Carey Price....but in fairness to Fucale all the goals were power play goals.
kickingfrog Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 It's rare that Canada brings under 18's to this tourny. We have a 2 this year Ekblad who is draft eligible this season and McDavid who is draft eligible in 2015.
BillM Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 How many players are in the NHL that are eligible for the junior team? I'm sure Rielly would have had a ball over there playing with the young kids, lol.
kickingfrog Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 I want to say there is also one other kid that played last year that is still eligible but he's with an NHL team.
lookinforwalleye Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 (edited) True enough but by the same token most of the other top teams have eligible players playing pro aswell. Galchenyuk is 19 so he could have played for the USA team. Edited December 30, 2013 by lookinforwalleye
lookinforwalleye Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 There are 10, 18/19 on NHL rosters may be more playing in the AHL.
kickingfrog Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 18/19 year olds who play for CHL teams must be sent back to their junior clubs, not the AHL, when "sent down" by the NHL club.
kickingfrog Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 The AHL outdoor game at Comerica Park between the Marlies and Grand Rapids is on SportsNet at 5pm today.
davey buoy Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 The AHL outdoor game at Comerica Park between the Marlies and Grand Rapids is on SportsNet at 5pm today. Thanks for the tip!
lookinforwalleye Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 18/19 year olds who play for CHL teams must be sent back to their junior clubs, not the AHL, when "sent down" by the NHL club. You are correct sir!!!
kickingfrog Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 Normally a ahl game wouldn't interest me but seeing the outdoor rink at the baseball diamond is worth at least a quick flip or 2 during the game.
tb4me Posted December 31, 2013 Report Posted December 31, 2013 Marlies going to the shootout! Go Marlies Go!In other news, just read thisREPORT: Two #NHL teams have confirmed that the #Leafs have made Center Nazem Kadri available in any trade talks....
tb4me Posted December 31, 2013 Report Posted December 31, 2013 Wow Mac with the HUGE shootout win! What a show he put on...Nice
leaf4 Posted December 31, 2013 Report Posted December 31, 2013 Why would they make nazem available? they have him over a barrel for this season and next 2.9 is a steal, he could be getting 4mill maybe more if he were a free agent. I hope they don't trade him
BillM Posted December 31, 2013 Report Posted December 31, 2013 (edited) Rumors are floating around Komarov wants to be back in a blue/white jersey. I'd happily accept!!!! And don't trade Kadri, hopefully this is just a way to light a fire under his ass. Edited December 31, 2013 by BillM
