jedimaster Posted June 18, 2013 Report Posted June 18, 2013 Looking to possibly hire a cover band for a corp bbq for maybe an hour or so, play random stuff, like the hip etc... Nothing heavy or too crazy. Anyway I thought I recall there being a few people in bands here. Message me if you know someone or are in one thanks.
ccmtcanada Posted June 18, 2013 Report Posted June 18, 2013 (edited) Message headhunter. His band "Road Gravy" is awesome! http://www.roadgravyband.ca/ Edited June 18, 2013 by ccmt
jedimaster Posted June 18, 2013 Author Report Posted June 18, 2013 (edited) Thanks, message sent. Whats wrong? I hear you have some magic fingers on the 6 string not up for a solo gig? Edited June 18, 2013 by jedimaster
ccmtcanada Posted June 18, 2013 Report Posted June 18, 2013 Lol. One person on guitar and a voice a band does not make!! I've seen Road Gravy live and they would be perfect I think!
Big Cliff Posted June 18, 2013 Report Posted June 18, 2013 I'm part Iriquois does that count? Actually though I have had the pleasure of listening to ccmt play and it is beautiful. If he vouches for a band I would have no problem hiring them!
Headhunter Posted June 19, 2013 Report Posted June 19, 2013 Thanks for the recommendation Cliff! Unfortunately Road Gravy will be on hiatus until October with some bad summer holiday planning having each of us off somewhere, until October! HH
ccmtcanada Posted June 19, 2013 Report Posted June 19, 2013 Joe...maybe we can play a few hours of Brown Eyed Girl for the party...
jedimaster Posted June 19, 2013 Author Report Posted June 19, 2013 I offered to play more than words and imagine over and over for two hours but I got the hook.
Headhunter Posted June 19, 2013 Report Posted June 19, 2013 Joe...maybe we can play a few hours of Brown Eyed Girl for the party...Brown Eyed Girl and Learn to Fly are probably the only two songs that we both know all of the way through Cliff! Alternatively, we could do a "Rush Melody" of their bigger hits, but not the whole song as neither of us can remember them all the way through! Imagine more than words for an hour and a half! Sounds like fun!!! HH
jedimaster Posted June 19, 2013 Author Report Posted June 19, 2013 I think we settled on a steel drum band for this event but we have another one in Mid Sept we are trying to get off the ground... get practicing guys haha, I smell and all ofc cover band taking shape.
jedimaster Posted June 19, 2013 Author Report Posted June 19, 2013 Nice, anyone play the mouth harp.... lol
Dabluz Posted June 19, 2013 Report Posted June 19, 2013 I play guitar and blues harp in a blues band but I'm too far away.
fishnsled Posted June 19, 2013 Report Posted June 19, 2013 If Road Gravy is still on hiatus and you're still looking check out Thoze Guyz. My buddy Ed plays guitar and sings, and they do Brown Eyed Girl and Learn to Fly as well but know many others too. LOL! . http://www.thozeguyz.ca/home.cfm
F7Firecat Posted June 19, 2013 Report Posted June 19, 2013 Call the guys from Freedon Train, they are based in Burlington www.freedomtrain.ca best bar band out there imo!!
