forrest Posted September 13, 2008 Report Posted September 13, 2008 Officials announced a mandatory evacuation notice for residents of Galveston Island... with a warning of "Imminent Death" if they stayed from this massive hurricane. Approximately 40% of the 56,000 people living there ignored this order... that's about 23,000 people. Reports are now coming in of thousands of people missing... just because people are looking for non-evacues does not mean the non-evacuees are missing. who is saying people are missing? forrest

Dutch Posted September 13, 2008 Report Posted September 13, 2008 My wife and I rode out Hurricane Wilma in the Mayan Riviera. The fastest a storm has ever got to Category 5 in history. It came ashore a strong Cat. 4 about 40 k.m. North of us in Playa Del Carmen. We felt the calm of the eye wall. It sounded like there was a freight train and a 747 on top of our room. It just meandered along the coast for about 40 hours. Something I never want to face every again. The destruction is total and complete. The pictures give me goosebumps, and bring back the memories.....

POLLIWOGG Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 "i just cant understand why people wont listen to the warnings. I pray that they will be ok." Rush told them to stay yesterday, they must be democrats. It was the first time a warning of Imminent Death has been issued, he said it was bull.
