rhare Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 Well I spent the weekend dragging my balls around Lake simcoe before you get the wrong idea I ment cannonballs. I hit the lake friday with a friend who has been doing very well for lakers in the summer on simcoe. He gave me a few tips and I was ready to try it myself on the weekend. The laker bite can be tough in Simcoe during the summer. I had tried pulling Nk's around with no results despite tons of marks on the finder. This weekend we decided to try my friends technique of bouncing bottom with the riggers. what a difference. Saturday we went 5/5 and sunday we went 7/11 taping the flutter spoons seemed to make the difference. fish went from 3-8lbs some fought very well even peeling some line. only snapped a few pics as we released a bunch at the boat no to do any more damage. Ryan
Roy Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 Some really nice fish there Ryan. Nice of your bud to help you in the tips department and good on you for keeping an open mind and trying something different. Thanks for sharing that, GREAT!
medmart Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 Nice looking fish Ryan i will have to get out there and try that Rob
ccmtcanada Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 Awesome looking fish! Great to see a change in tactics pay off like that for you. Sometimes fishing does feel like your dragging your balls all around the place.....LOL
highdrifter Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 Some well fed troutsies! Thanks for posting. Nice little tidbit of info there. HD
1leggedangler Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 Nice job with the Laker's. No small feet catching those bad boys on Simcoe in the summer. Congrats and thanks for the report and pics. Cheers, 1leg

Cudz Posted August 26, 2008 Report Posted August 26, 2008 Nice fish! I used to bounce bottom on simcoe for lakers. Really gets them going. You can lose the odd cannon ball though. $$
yo_guy Posted August 26, 2008 Report Posted August 26, 2008 Nice job Ryan! I see you and the Lund are getting together quite nicely
Guest Johnny Bass Posted August 26, 2008 Report Posted August 26, 2008 Very nice! I thought the lakers in Simcoe were small, but those are some very chunky fish!! Thanks for sharing.
ravinerat Posted August 28, 2008 Report Posted August 28, 2008 Some great lakers you got there. Mine are all small. Can't seem to get any decent sized ones. See you on the lake. RR
