  3. People let's break the $600 mark.... we are at $575 right now. http://www.runforthecure.com/site/TR?px=1618821&pg=personal&fr_id=1100&fl=en_CA&et=T2WXTUS5P4zsmCOJAZh98g..&s_tafId=1243
  4. BillsTheBassMan, Sorry to hear about that and keep your fingers crossed. My friend's mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in her early 30s way back and now she's in her mid 50s and still strong thanks to medical breakthrough and advancements. It will only get better! I will be running for the Toronto district so the money raised for this area will remain in this area. If you live in other parts of Ontario please pledge for the participants in that area.
  5. Just raised another $100 CIBC Run for the Cure pledge
  6. 105 views and nobody is attending? WOAH!!!
  7. Hello OFC members, Some of you may know this already but this year I decided to take 2010 away from fishing and to use those spare time to train for long distance running to raise money for the cancer society and charitable organizations even though I hate cardio especially jogging. I even sold some of my fishing gear to fund these events as I won't be using them. So far this year I've completed the Sporting life 10km, Becel Ride for Heart 50 km, Acura 10 miler, Toronto Scotia Half-Marathon, CIBC Run for the Cure 5km (This Sunday), Toronto Goodlife Half-Marathon (Oct 17) and that should be it as my legs are getting pretty tired. I have one more race event to add but I can't seem to remember it. The reason I posted this on the OFC Community is to see how many of you will be participating in the CIBC Run for the Cure event this Sunday on October 3, 2010. If you are not participating perhaps you would be interested in supporting me by pledging. So far this week I've raised $315 and with your help we can raise even more. If you do pledge please put OFC next to your name on the registration form this way we can see it. I will be running for my Aunt Cecilia this Sunday as she passed away due to breast cancer on October 2001. Thanks for reading! CIBC Run for the Cure Pledge Form
  8. If you have a remote and a sturdy tripod you can achieve those stars effect by playing with the shutter duration. If you don't have a remote you can set it on timer and set to the desired shutter speed in manual or shutter mode. Manual mode offers more control for this type of scenario.
  9. If your were in Toronto I'll be happy to take pictures of those fish for you... Gotta love spring pike!
  10. Awesome pics Johnny...
  11. That's a nice slab you got there Jackie...
  12. I bought some to try out this weekend and I still got bit with the patch on.
  13. That's on my to do list for this year.
  14. Don't get caught up with the MP war. No matter which camera or brand you choose. Either way they are both pretty decent cameras. She will have a learning curve that she will need to overcome. Remember these are not point and shoot cameras, you will take many decent photos and many bad photos when you start. Once you learn the techniques that's when you start making good pictures. FYI... lens are not cheap so be prepared to shell out some big bucks if she want those for future gifts.
  15. how was the fishing? seriously, best bet is to go back to the spot and call it using a friend's phone before the battery drains
  16. When I had my pontoon I was going to do the electric motor setup and ended up not doing it because the paddles alone was more than enough power plus I didn't want to lug around a battery and motor. You'll get a nice workout paddling. Don't take it out on a windy day, you'll get tossed around.
  17. Glad you guys had fun.... Lloyd sure knows his stuff.
  18. Next time do a fake release photo of how your buddy realeased the fish if you intend to post pics... Nice Largemouth that's for sure!!!
  19. Dara is right! Make sure you have plenty of daylight if not just follow behind a tractor trailor and keep your eyes open for moose, deers etc.... If you are tired pull over. Other than that it's a nice drive, if you're the passenger even better.
  20. It's been a while since I fished this creek... at any rate that's why I stated
  21. Fish do run up there and sorry I can't and will not tell you my favourite places... You can work the river anywhere from the mouth of bronte all the way up Petro Canada Park. If you like to walk keep going north till you're tired you can find a few spots with some small pools. Generally speaking this creek is really shallow. Time the rain and should find fish anywhere. It's all site fishing! Keep in mind of the regs as well for closing dates of particular stretches. Honestly, you are better off at the credit with more flow.
  22. pisss... it's skein To answer the question when using skein just use a big enough hook suitable to cover the skein chunks that you will be using. You might also want to cure the skein so it doesn't spoil so quickly. Procure can be bought in any tackle store. You can also use loose roe in spawn sacks which is much cleaner and easier to manage. Egg loop know is not needed here... As for which knot for the swivels etc... it really doesn't matter but some guys will use certain knots due to a higher break strength. Just make sure your leader is weaker than your main line to avoid loosing your whole setup incase you get a snag and you will be fine. The simplest rig is to toss lures
  23. Nice job Ryan like usual...
