Bly Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 Sorry to hear about the boat, crossing my fingers for you that it will be a fast and wallet friendly repair. IF you do decide to do some shore fishing, just watch for falling rocks!
Whopper Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 Hope the repair bill is not to painful dawg! You could always come get my and slime it Glen, Lord knows I'm not using it and it's ready to go
fishindevil Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 Hey glen i needed a carb gasket for 35hp johnson, and it was similar to your situation my motor acted the same way,if thats the prob,it wasnt to costly, about $75 bucks !!!! hopefully thats all it is,good-luck buddy let us know how you make out
Garry2Rs Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 Most of the float bowls I've seen use a neoprene gasket. These sit in a groove and shouldn't wear out. The leaks are generally just a stuck float or a gunky needle valve. The needle valve is attached to the float in the float bowl. If you remove the bowl and lift out the float the needle will come out too. On the end of the needle you will probably find a ring of gunk. Rub off the gunk and reassemble. Your problem may be solved.

huntervasili Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 Heres to hoping for a quick recovery and that ya get back on her and hear her purring just like before
Bernie Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 Bring it by this week and I'll fix it up fer ya. If you need any info Glen let me know. The symptoms of a stuck float needle are there. On 4 carb setups there can be some fine adjustments required on reassembly to resync.
Nanook Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 Thats tough Glen, like losing a best friend. Hope the repair aint TOO costly for you. Shore fishing does make a nice change........sometimes.
