3rd time was the charm for me (video and pics)

Great video! Nice job. They just can't resist the black fury. Those Muskoka Brewery beers looked pretty yummy. Don't throw your smokes out the window! lol. I was admittedly bad for that back when I smoked. It looks like you guys had a great time. Beauty brookies. -
I will be honest. I do not post my reports because I do not want to be famous. lol. I will PM people as I often do with help but I no longer post reports because this site is just too bloody big and I do not want people to recognize me at the boat launch. I still try to contribute with advice and help but I do not want to slather pictures of myself here with fish as I have nothing to promote. I often speak out against the shills on here but am often ridiculed by the sycophants who believe that the Pro (motional not fessional) Staff that shill here are doing it in the best interest of the membership not themselves. I equate these people with the guy in the strip joint that thinks the broad really likes him. I respect many people on this board. I have friends on this board but I think it is just to big to be posting pictures of myself on it. Like I said, I have nothing to sell. If I PM you with info. you know it doesn't come at a price. Cheers

Well you did it! A diamond ring worth 4900 bucks. Way to go!

Been a while since I have had a chance to fish

That's a great day. I might have to alter my post in the retirement thread! -
Niagara Region. 1 hour or less to a pile of trophy fisheries. Smallmouth, Perch, Walleye, Steelhead on Erie. You have the upper and lower Niagara River. The Salmon fix can be treated on Lake Ontario. The real estate on the North shore of Lake Erie is still reasonable as well. I would actually like to retire on Lake of the Woods but it would be too far away. Ultimately my decision will be made by my 3 year old son when he grows up. Wherever he settles down and raises a family I will want to be close by.

Awesome! Way to go big fella!

snakehead fish found in British Columbia pond

I would take care of a snakehead the same way that I take care of zombies. Separate the head from the body. -
Ontario hunters' personal data stored in U.S.
Grimace replied to Grimace's topic in General Discussion
Some of the anti US commentary that has invaded this thread is ridiculous. I am not going to waste any time apologizing for it. This is not what this thread is about. I am not a paranoid gun owner (I know the type), in fact I do not even own a gun nor do I hunt. I do fish however and the same bunch are doing the fishing licenses. My beef is with the information sharing in general. It doesn't sit well with me that if I purchase a hunting or fishing license in my country that a foreign country's federal anti terrorist agency could obtain it. It is not the American company that is handling this contract that is at fault. They would only turn over the information to Homeland Security if asked (which they certainly would be). It is not Homeland Security's fault (I think the citizenry of the USA have lost many freedoms after the inception of this organization but that doesn't matter here), they would be just doing what they do, gathering every piece of intelligence on every little thing. It is our MNR's fault for giving this contract out to a foreign company. That is where my annoyance lies. More than likely the real problem with this situation may lie not with the American company handing our information to Homeland Security but with the fact that a private company (American or Canadian) is doing it in the first place. More than likely the info will be sold to marketing interests and that is another pet peeve of mine. Our provincial government has been doing a fine job for years taking care of our licensing. The only real problems that have taken place have occurred this year under the new set up. There was no need to privatize it. Anyways, that is my 30 cents. I hope that I have made it clear that in no way did I start this thread so people could bash on the States. -
Ontario hunters' personal data stored in U.S.
Grimace replied to Grimace's topic in General Discussion
My agitation with this lies with the MNR not the USA. I find Marines's comments to be silly. I find it odd that a bunch of people that absolutely loathe the gun registry would now be okay with the MNR allowing an American company to document this information and turn it over to homeland security when asked. I can see Canadians on vacation in the USA running into problems with the law because of it. Those are the reasons for my concern. I do not see the Kia comment as a valud comparison. I do not think that Kia, upon sale of a car in Ontario, documents specific personal information, sends it off to head office in Korea, who then hand it over to their federal anti terrorist agency. But hey, I could be wrong. :-) This can be a perfectly intelligent thread if it can endure the silly anti USA rants and the inflammatory "Jerry Jerry" signs from the peanut gallery. -
I just came across this article and found it a little unsettling. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/story/2012/05/16/hunters-gun-us-patriot-act.html Ontario hunters' personal data stored in U.S. The Canadian Press Posted: May 16, 2012 6:35 PM ET Last Updated: May 16, 2012 6:34 PM ET The personal information of Ontario residents who apply for hunting and fishing licences is being stored in the United States, where it is subject to the American Patriot Act. A Tennessee-based company won the contract to implement an automated licensing system for Ontario for hunters and fishers, and stores the personal data it collects in the United States. The Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters says its 100,000 members are "deeply concerned" about the potential loss of privacy inherent in having their personal data stored in the U.S. Natural Resources Minister Michael Gravelle says the firm, Active Outdoors, signed a contract with very specific terms on abiding by Ontario law to protect personal information. However, the anglers and hunters worry Homeland Security will use the Patriot Act to access the personal data of Ontarians that is stored in the U.S. The Progressive Conservatives say the data should be stored in Ontario, while the NDP say the issue is another reason why they flatly oppose privatization of government services.

I was wondering the same thing. I couldn't figure it out in mobile or desktop.

Like Bill said, that sounds like a job for the Johnson silver minnow. It is a light weight, weedless spoon that is famous for spring pike. As Bill suggests you can pimp it up a bit with a trailer and slow it right down because of its weight. Give it a shot. I love those things.

Well one of the things that would be considered better than catching Brook Trout with your favourite uncle could certainly be catching Brook Trout with your dad. Excellent! Many of what I consider to be the highlights of my life have come to me while fishing with my father.

WOW!! That is awesome. Beautiful fish. -
I got the Old Lady's car detailed, a huge arrangement of flowers, my mother now has a new queen Crimson Japanese Maple, and got my mother in law a 50 dollar beer store gift certificate and a yard of black mulch which I installed in her garden yesterday. I am about 600 dollars poorer but I am pretty much a hero around here. Women. They are just so easy to please.

Hopefully the gas station hasn't run out of flowers. :-)

I am a die hard Storm fan but you just have to love this years OHL playoffs. There was some amazing teams this year with London, Niagara, Kitchener, and Plymouth in the mix. Congrats to the Knights. An amazing organization. An acquaintance of mine is a scout for the Knights and I work with the Rupert brothers' uncle so I am happy for their success.

I love the St Croix avid. For vertical jigging I have the 7' medium light. I paired it with the Pflueger President. The light weight of the Pflueger matches really well. There are plenty of great options out there. I was messing around with a Shimano Cumara in a tackle shop and it felt pretty amazing. I have a couple of Diawa Laguna reels that I have been beating up on for years and they have provided me with nothing but perfect service. They are a touch heavy when compared to the Pfluegers but they are still a great reel.

I sent you a PM with all you should need to know. Good luck. Hope it helps get you started. After you come off the water hit up the Portuguese chicken place by the Tim Horton's. Great chicken.
