  1. Pike have no place in the kawarthas IMO. Kill them all! I'm with sinker on this one in terms of the value of a Muskie fishery.
  2. Did you just call me a big ass? Lol. And yes a diesel plate. No pay offs involved lol
  3. You're not the only one certified by landscape ontario and doing this stuff for a long time lol. FYI I've achieved 98% compaction in lifts as much as 8"-10". I'm not saying its a bad idea to compact in smaller lifts. It's great advise but I'd be just as comfortable compacting 4-5" with a gas plate tamper.
  4. Personally I wouldn't go to the extreme of compacting it every 3 inches, unless of course you are horrible at grading lol. But the above advice using crusher run as a base and screenings to cap it off is spot on. Also make sure the gravel has good moisture content before compaction.
  5. Wow... First drift! Good stuff! Congrats on getting a fish on your own fly! WTG Ron for taking the time to teach the young fella. It can be a tough crowd down there sometimes lol. Glad he ran into the right guy!
  6. Yup. It was pretty easy for me to understand all these years.
  7. Angling specialties also does reel cleaning if I'm not mistaken.
  8. Flip a coin
  9. I prefer triaxles or trailers. Tandems just aren't worth while lol
  10. Thanks for all the tips. I did end up using break cleaner. Aperently the first time I cleaned it wasn't good enough. So I did it again and bingo. Good to go. It amazing what a fisherman with YouTube and a whole garage of tools can accomplish lol Thanks again!
  11. So I took apart the carb and cleaned all the parts. Float, jets, bowl, etc... Put it all back together and seems like I have the same issue. Only way it stays running is if I keep pumping the primer. Only thing I didn't change was the o-ring at the bottom of the jet that holds the bowl on. I'm no mechanic just wanted to take a stab at it myself. Maybe its time to get it looked at and spend some $$ lol
  12. Thanks guys! I will tinker with it and see what I come up with.
  13. Hey folks, Was out getting my snowblower ready for this up coming snow storm. Seems to me that the float is stuck in the carb. Are there any additives or easy fixes that don't involve me removing the carb and manually cleaning it? The motor is a Tecumseh. It runs with the choke on, but as soon as I switch it off it dies. Also while running the exhaust gets very red(hot). What do y'all think?
  14. Personally I'm a flasher guy when it comes to ice fishing. I had a vexilar before I owned a car lol. It's all personal preference. Only thing I can tell you is a quality flasher or graph will pay itself off the first season you use it. It will put more fish on the ice for you too.
  15. I'm not doubting you. Just asking the questions. Stuff like this really grinds my gears. People like this give hunters a bad name. Haven't even seen a deer this season with countless hours on the stand. Then you see this animal go to waste.
  16. That is what I was getting at lol Shot and not found by hunter but maybe a passer by helped themselves. Regardless if shot with a gun this was a poached deer!
  17. Wow... What a shame! Was this the kill site or was the deer discarded? Possibly shot with an arrow?
  18. Wow...good stuff Mike! Amazing shots!
  19. Baiting deer?
  20. I second the st croix. Picked one up and paired it with a Stradic c14 Great for vertical jigging and rip jigging
  21. Next time just sketch a picture, you'll get in less trouble lol
  22. Looks like that slot size is really helping out the kawarthas!
  23. Always pointing fingers at us eye talians
  24. Firstly Lund has nothing to do with the availability of a yammy. Secondly IMO legend is not even in the same league as Lund
