What 'signals' the true beginning of spring?
Steve replied to Beavertail's topic in General Discussion
that summer spincast. spring is when jordan is still frozen. soon my friend, soon. -
the kilty b's were awesome!!! only georgetown could handle them!

fishmaster is a great guide - especially during the april/may/june bite. i believe he won the 2014 spring scotty (or whatever it is called these days).

i stop the boat for every fish we hook..... reduces the numbers, but increases the fun.... i'd rather go 6/7 than 9/19. maureen, based on the age of your young guests, take a looong look at gavin's get bit charters. if the fish aren't biting, and you can't find emil to follow, then you can rip around at 70mph. every youngster loves that!

paudash, this is not going to sound nice but......3 months wait for mri means your daughter's issue was not considered critical. when I was having seizures on a frequent basis, I had MRI's immediately. i had three MRI's in two years....all in the same day as my seizure's. they were checking for clots, tumors, etc. if you are considered an emergency, you will get your mri immediately. those who wait are those whose injuries aren't considered critical. we have the option. if you don't want to wait, go to the states and buy it.

Beer and wine sales in Ontario NF well kinda!
Steve replied to Headhunter's topic in General Discussion
try being a single malt scotch drinker. 18 year Macallan is (or was) 299 in Ontario. $135 in Alberta. Alberta is private. Ontario is government controlled. As usual, the government controlled means much much much much more money. Forget LCBO controlling ANYTHING! Let free market prevail. -
the one down on queenston? cheap there!!

you will likely be able to get 150 yards of 30lbs braid.

Any experience ordering electronics from Fishing World?
Steve replied to fishnguy's topic in General Discussion
I dropped my prescription polarized sunglasses a couple days before a week long bass fishing trip in september. I had a new pair being made, but they weren't going to be ready by my fishing trip. I wanted a decent pair of polarized glasses for my trip, but didn't want to spend an arm and a leg, as my prescription ones would be ready soon after. Steve lent me his. Steve is top notch. Of course the guys at Bills Bait are quite good as well....Greg and Tim will both go out of their way for customer service. But, so with FW. We are lucky here in Hamilton to have two great stores, with Grimsby Tackle, another great shop, close by. -

Fishing World works hard and does their best. "Big Steve" (the muscular guy) can come across as "abrupt" but he is very knowledgeable, and is always honest. He's the last guy to "oversell" a customer. They are a larger store, as such, naturally lacks the "small store" feel... They work hard for their customers and they support many of the local fishing events. -

great store! i'd buy from there over BPS, Cabella's, Sail, and every other big box store --- everytime!!! support your local stores. ESPECIALLY when they provide the best price! -
I love that video. It shows exactly what "some" (and I mean only some) bass anglers want to be able to fish for them during the spawn. THAT IS WHY! (skill? who needs it, lol)

Public service announcement for pizza in Brampton
Steve replied to leaf4's topic in General Discussion
Bill, I'll help you on that one...cause, you need it, lol. To attempt to make your comparison somewhat logical and accurate, you would need to have a server, or food preparer, do that, then make someone's food afterward, without washing their hands, or wearing gloves. you can scratch your balls, pick your nose, then pick your ass and eat your food directly afterwards.....just can't serve someone else food after doing it... hope this helps clarify bills silly comparison. -
it is very cool. however, due to location, it is not overly cheap by any means. a few friends from Hamilton have mentioned they thought the cost did not equal the return - I don't agree. But just a heads up.

ya, that's not good. can't have that kind of stuff going down where you are selling food to the public. at home? sure. not selling food to the public. -
when you're a big box store, with the overhead they have, they sure as hell better find a way to please "Just about" everyone... or they'll be the next target. an empty building. Sail is Canadian. IF Cabela's and BPS closed up shop tomorrow up here, I'd be a very happy camper! edit: grammar.

my buddy had a 6' ugly stick...not sure the model, but it was a broomstick.... as heavy as the compre muskie stick I mentioned above... BUT it was crap.

i fish a lot of bass.....but in comparison to the rest, its actually not a lot at all. in march, from shore, park your butt on the shorelines of niagara river or pt dalhousie. enjoy strong fighting trout. that'll last through april. once pike and walleye open in May, hit the harbour mouths of lake ontario.... finally, once june comes, you can play with your preferred green or brown backs. but nothing worse than calling yourself a "bass only" fisherman. Your limiting 12 months of fishing down to 4 (or less).

black and yellow bucktail jig...if sunfish are around, they are amazing! roy, those look great!
