over 300 bucks!?!? when i did my PAL and hunting courses 5-6 years ago it was something like $65 for each one plus $20 per book. i passed the courses and got all my licenses for 350 or so.... now you're looking at $130 i think for 3 year small game and fishing plus i think its $60 for a PAL? what do you plan on buying for your first gun?

if you waste more meat with an electric knife than with a fillet knfie then you arent using the electric properly. with a good electric knife u can get more meat from around the spine. its normal for me to fillet fish and after im done cutting the fillets off all thats left is the head, spine and tail with no meat or rib bones left at all. very fast and easy to cut the ribs out of each fillet too

electric fillet knife will make it 3x faster

lol its funny when u guys try to talk about guns/hunting shooting at birds near water with a rifle is a bad idea due to ricochets...especially with .22's. if using a rifle, you need to use something thats small and fast so the bullet will break up when it hits a rock or water. 17hmr comes to mind. 12g would be good as well but limited to 50 yards or less. im wondering how you would attract these birds to your blind to blast them? im pretty sure that bass pro doesnt sell cormorant decoys and calls. .22 shorts arent powerful enough to kill these birds humanely....

as long as you do not go on their property to get on the ice or to get off then you can fish 1" from the shoreline if you wish.

the rapala electric fillet knife is awesome. got it on sale at CT for $35.99 and i love it. i can now fillet perch and make every fillet perfect and it only took a few fish to get good with it. its almost impossible to screw up using it. alot of people think they tear the meat and the final product is a ragged hunk of meat. not the truth you can actually push down firmly and the blade will flex around the backbone so you get more meat than with a normal knife. i guess its the angle of the serrated knife? works great for cutting meat nice and thin for jerky too

ive been working every day up until last week when it got really cold and it looks like ill have most of this week off too. i love doing concrete work but hate it in the winter. its good for being able to put up with the cold though. should see the looks i get when i go out shopping or whatever in just a long sleeve shirt lol. today an older lady says "my god, put a coat on or your going to catch a cold!" i couldnt help but laugh my ass off

the heater will work but you will likely need to get 1 or 2 of the ones that are about 12" long. the heater in my 30 gallon in the basement is on constantly and has been for 3 years or so. i dont see how it could burn out by being in cold temps. what about getting some insulation and wrapping it around the filter?
-
id rather use a normal size fin bore so i dont have to get on my knees to drill a hole
-
same here! btw...how do u change them anyways?

i just bought a house that has a new natural gas water heater and high efficency furnace. how much would i be looking at per month for each? the house is about 950sq/ft and is going to have all brand new insulation. i asked the seller but he hasnt had them long enough to get billed for them yet....

ch312 replied to express168's topic in General Discussion
a fellow concrete dude eh? lots of money to be made in the concrete world right now so you might as well try now. i plan on registering my own business in may. i tested the waters last year and did very well on my own (actually had to stop doing side jobs because i was working too many hours) and i know that i can go on my own. sure is a nice knowing ill make alot of $$$ this year only you know if you can really handle it on your own or not. some people can do it, while others cant no matter how hard they try. -
set it up in the basement and place a dehumidifer inside it. open the rear vent and windows flaps and then close both doors. works like a charm.
-
thats why theres electric filleting knives

cant see the pics.... i had a pet possum and it was just like a cat. walked around the house and did its duty in the litter box. too bad they have such a short lifespan
-

wow thats gotta suck...ive been lucky and ive only broken fingers before. sounds like you slipped on the ice on the sidewalk at the place where you were gonna buy a sled. take them for as much as you can if thats the case im sure someone can throw you on a sled and pull you out on the ice... OR get someone to rig up a wheelchair that goes on skis
