read this post and dont forget it!!!! ive had my my grizzly 700 with eps for 1.5 years and ride it nearly every weekend. ive put on more than 2000kms so far and the ONLY issue was a broken cv joint. the only reason it broke was from a rip in the boot that allowed crap to get in there. i have 1" wheel spacers and a 2" lift which cause severe strain on the suspension, axles, and joints with zero problems. my buddy put just a 2" lift in his polaris 700 and broke 2 axles after 15 minutes of riding... ive done literally hundreds of long wheelies, almost always hammer the gas, hit every mud hole i find, and quite frankly drive it likes it stolen. no problems even after doing dozens of water wheelies in 4-5ft+ of water either. its been rolled a dozen times including one going 40km/h (which really hurt), smashed into trees, flipped end over end once (i was knocked out from that one), and keeps on ticking. sure there are faster and smoother riding atv's out there, but if you want a machine that can take abuse i highly recommend the grizzly 700. i've seen so many polaris' with problems that id place a lot of $$$ on my machine for reliability...how about ownerships? that said, i ride in a group that ranges from 2 to 25 quads and i get to see a lot of machines get beat on. polaris is the last machine id ever own and would likely give up quading before owning one. they are fine for normal riding and use, but thats it. they are always the machines to break down first on our hardcore rides that involve racing and deep mud. last time out it took 3, 2500lb winches to haul out a broken polaris. 2 of them broke that day yamaha, kawi, and suzuki are by far the best for dependability. my machine has now convinced 4 others in our group to switch to grizzly 700's and they couldnt be happier... a pic that sums up my style of riding and then a pic of what the polaris guys get to see all the time...my rear end

put out my moultrie infrared cam last week after finding a scrape during my first scouting trip this year. cleaned it up a bit and sprayed some scent in the existing scrape. figured id see some does and maybe a buck or two as there really wasnt much sign. but, it has good deer habitat written all over it...on the edge of hardwood/super thick swampy stuff, 2 acorn trees 20 yards away, corn field about 150 yards away. unfortunately its on public land so i had to tuck my cam down into some thick stuff to keep it hidden from others which resulted in black and white pics due to all the shadows. next time out i am going to try video mode as the bucks made 3 more scrapes in front of my cam. i think its 3, 8 pointers and 2, 10 pointers? checkout the last one. not big, but a cool rack. im targeting the typical 10, but i'll use my first tag on any deer that steps out

i have been 100% successful in antlerless and controlled draws in wmu's 89 and 90 since i began deer hunting 8-9 years ago. i've had great luck so far stalking deer in the snow and getting close shots with my crossbow. stands are simply too boring and i often doze off. plus i see more deer while sneaking through the bush compared to sitting in a treestand. that said, ill be out for the december hunt in 90 with my remington 870 that shoots 3" outside to outside groups at 125 yards with a rifled barrel/scope/sabots. should be a breeze considering i have stalked to within 12 yards of 2 does and consider it easy with my crossbow.

the leafs always do good in the early season and then choke when the playoffs roll around. they still suck

thats rather unfortunate for the farmer and the family shouldnt be seeking any $$$ as it wasnt the farmers fault. i could understand if he put up a small diameter cable in hopes of intentionally hurting someone, but many farmers simply chain off driveways as its cheap and effective. now his insurance is going up because of someone elses mistake. BUT, that does seem a bit high for a chain to be hanging... BTW...i ride my ATV with a group nearly every weekend and this could easily happen to any one of us as we often ride in the dark and have made wrong turns. last summer we were booting around on an ATV/dirt bike course where we had been quite a few times before. i went over a rather steep little mound about 6-7ft high that i had been over before. but, for unknown reasons someone had dug a hole on the opposite side. the front of my ATV hit the edge of the hole and was nearly facing straight down. i flipped over the bars smashing my head off the front rack and i blacked out until i hit the ground. if it werent for my brain bucket my jaw and temple would have took the blow. its a very stiff rack and it still bent down about 3/4"

in defensive driving the instructor talked about how so called "accidents" can be avoided the majority of the time and its always human error. in this situation your buddy (RIP, condolences to family and friends) made a bad judgment call and was driving too fast as the machine was new to him and they were on new trails. unfortunately, even the smartest critters on earth arent perfect and make mistakes. the farmer is not the one to blame. again, sorry for the loss.

right then although you could still buy a 12 gauge and start reloading your own shells. im guessing a light load going fast would be good for grouse making it like a 20 gauge with higher speed and likely better patterns. i've been meaning to start reloading... how about a remington 870 in 20 gauge? im not sure about the new ones, but mine in 12 gauge is about 5-6 years old and has had zero problems after some nasty abuse. a pump is the most reliable and can be as fast as a semi with practice. it will also shoot the lightest to heaviest loads without a hitch. a semi may be better if you dont have time to practice and have no experience with pumps. hopefully you will find a gun that will shoot everything you feed her as some semi's wont cycle really light loads. a savage model 24 .22lr over .410 would also make a classy grouse gun. rifle up top for when you're stalking birds and popping them on the ground. then you have a .410 for when you miss with the .22

what he said once you start hunting you'll want to start targeting other critters where a 12 gauge will be much better suited for the job. waterfowl, turkey, jack rabbit, coyote, deer, etc are what you'd need a 12 gauge for as the 12 holds many more pellets. when slug hunting either gauge would do just fine. make sure you pattern your gun with a few chokes and different shells to get the best patterns. we could have the same gun, but one may like brand A while the other throws better patterns with brand C.

9"+ unless they are gut hooked. i have noticed no difference in taste between 8" and 14" fish and i have ate perch literally every week this year since april. it takes about 1 minute with an electric fillet knife to get boneless/skinless fillets. best rig so far this year for the bigger fish has been a drop shot rig. ultra light rod/reel 8 lb power pro 3ft, 4 lb floro leader 2 hooks...one red other chartreuse 1 oz bell sinker

thats what im sayin. we do work for a man that owns an insurance company with the head office being close to brantford. his house isnt too far from brantford either and its a nice place worth only $5 million. BUT, they dont make any money

old cut is my #1 choice coming from brantford. i refuse to pay $20 for the "wear and tear" my dakota and a 14ft tinner are going to do on the concrete ramp. what makes it worse is im already spending another $20 in their store on snacks and minnows most of the time. so, ill gladly drive by them to get to old cut and launch for $10. they are actually fair priced so i kinda feel obligated to give my money to honest people rather than greedy...

river in brantford is up a bit and muddy as of 5:30pm today. ive never had much luck for anything but catfish in the river under the same conditions. but, you never know.

both walleye and catfish are night feeders and both can be fished with the same bottom rigs. but, you'll use different sizes of hooks and baits. either way, its usually more effective to fish for both species at night for the big mama's

well...since most people are forced to work so much due to the high cost of living and the government constantly raping us via taxes im not surprised. quite frankly i dont have a problem at all with people having a drink or toke at lunch to make the day go by quicker. i also think its Bull that the world revolves around money and most are slaves until retirement.

as posted on 6-8... due to the heavy winds and chance of rain i was iffy about headin out today in my little 14 ft tinner. but, at 10am i finally decided to head down to old cut and was on the water by 1130am. headed straight east and marked a school and anchored. non stop action for an hour and then nothing. nothing again by ec 10 and over by the crowd. nothing by the next markers east. headed back towards old cut to 6-7ft and non stop action again. i was putting half a minnow on each hook and went through 3 scoops by 6pm. most of the larger fish were caught on a 2 hook drop shot rig with a red hook down low and chartreuse up top. i always have much better luck using colored hooks and some days they prefer different colors. pickerel rig brought in more fish, but they were mostly smaller fish. average for the day was probably 10-11" fish with very few under 9". 90% of the fish were females with eggs. i thought they spawned in the spring?

i met him up at a lake simcoe message board meet and greet probably 5 years ago or so. although we didnt talk much it was very easy to tell from online conversations that he was a great guy and would help anyone. RIP

you will be fine sheltered in the bay. i have a 14ft tinner and take it out on the bay in some windy conditions and its never that bad. sw winds shouldnt be a problem.

so, ive cooked perch every way possible this year and i needed to mix it up. since i have never pickled fish before i figured id give it a try. i went with the method that uses no heat. salt and vinegar for 5 days, rinse, then fresh vinegar, sugar and spices. i cant believe how good it is. does pickling work well for all fish or are there some to avoid? any favorite recipes?

when i showed up at my usual spot i was in shock that i was the only person there. usually at this time of year there would be 15 people within casting distance. but, there have also been fish around those times. now the question is...do i spend another $40 on gas next weekend to try again... btw...the only fish i landed were 4 gobies when i was bored beyond belief and sore from 100,000 casts
