  1. If the truck and trailer are going straight in line before entering the water they'll continue in a straight line until you turn the wheel or the trailer floats for some reason. x 2 on turning the mirrors down. I always have my mirrors aimed lower than most as it aids in reversing and fitting into tight spots everywhere. I also think that every vehicle should have those dome mirrors stuck to the main side mirrors as they offer a much better view and eliminate blind spots.
  2. No need for any markers or flags on the trailer. If you can't see it in either side mirror then it's going straight. Turn left or right as needed. Don't try to use different driving techniques when reversing a trailer and stick to how you normally drive as it'll be more natural feeling and be much easier in the long run.
  3. This is troubling me as well. Is it simply because the soldier in Quebec was an older gentleman while the soldier who was shot in Ottawa was a young and attractive man? It's a known fact that people are more emotional about the death of a younger man and I think the media is playing this to get more Canadians to react. I simply cannot understand how or why the shooting of the soldier in Ottawa is more significant than the soldier in Montreal being run over. In both cases a Canadian soldier was murdered on our home turf and both deserve equal recognition.
  4. There are many ways to make money. Some temp agencies pay cash daily, the government seems more than willing to hand out money to anyone and many small construction businesses still pay cash for laborers. The problem is these people begging for money are more than likely using the cash to buy drugs and alcohol. This is why you often see them rejecting food or clothing donations. They don't need or want that stuff, all they want is cash to buy their drugs or booze. I say keep your money and don't fund their addictions...
  5. Catch the flu...odds are very good you'll survive Catch Ebola...odds are very good you'll die As you can see below, Ebola can be spread by coughing and sneezing which is why those around infected people wear hazmat suits. Who in their right mind would approach an infected person when a simple sneeze from that person could result in you taking a dirt nap? http://www.cdc.gov/vhf/ebola/transmission/qas.html What are body fluids?Ebola has been detected in blood and many body fluids. Body fluids include saliva, mucus, vomit, feces, sweat, tears, breast milk, urine, and semen. Can Ebola spread by coughing? By sneezing?Unlike respiratory illnesses like measles or chickenpox, which can be transmitted by virus particles that remain suspended in the air after an infected person coughs or sneezes, Ebola is transmitted by direct contact with body fluids of a person who has symptoms of Ebola disease. Although coughing and sneezing are not common symptoms of Ebola, if a symptomatic patient with Ebola coughs or sneezes on someone, and saliva or mucus come into contact with that person’s eyes, nose or mouth, these fluids may transmit the disease.
  6. Higher initial cost, but that means higher quality, less repairs down the road and a much higher resale value in a far superior machine.
  7. I wouldn't pay $.097 per liter for any reserve gas as so many places out there have poor quality gas that makes my ATV and enduro run like crap. On top of that, I have native friends who have filled up at certain stations resulting in two trucks failing to even start and run on the stuff. Both trucks started and ran like tops immediately after being drained and topped up with good gas. Anyways, this sudden drop in prices has me shaking my head as I am amazed by the number of people who think we're now getting "cheap" gas when in fact we're still paying far more than we should be. Jack prices sky high for a while to get people use to paying the high price and make it seem normal, lower prices to make people think they're getting it really cheap, then jack prices even higher than the initial high price as people will think our current prices are dirt cheap. I guess they need to keep prices in the triple digits to justify spending all that money to update all those signs a few years back... I'm still commuting on my enduro 35 minutes each way and will continue to do so until the cold is unbearable. $3/day for gas is great
  8. Not to take anything away from these great fish and report, but those are just your average Erie eyes. Many people don't realize that an Erie average size fish is a monster trophy in many other waters. Congrats on the great day! Were you fishing near bottom? I haven't fished for them at this time of year and was wondering where they'd be in the water column right now. And to think some people already have their boats in storage...
  9. Not only does kwikfish know fishing and stocking, apparently he knows lawnmowers too! I'd definitely say he hit the nail on the head with his diagnosis....
  10. Look into a marine lithium ion battery. I'm not sure if they can even be bought around here, but I guess they're around 75% lighter than a traditional lead battery while providing more cranking power and longer life. I was reading an ATV magazine the other day and they mentioned using one in an ATV. The stock battery was 40 lbs while the lithium was just over 5 lbs...
  11. Exactly. The old school traps work great providing they're working properly and are set in the right place. Every other kill trap that's been invented since is basically another persons attempt at recreating the wheel. Homemade tin can live traps also have a near 100% success rate when set properly in the right spot.
  12. They're actually starting to look into crooked safety's? I guess the days of handing over $100 cash for a hot safety, where the mechanic only checks your odometer and nothing else, are coming to an end? Bummer...
  13. How on earth did your brother in law keep up with an ATV from Scotland all the way to the reserve? There are so many large concessions, fields, and bush lots between the two that it would be impossible for a vehicle to keep up unless the ATV ran the roads the entire way.
  14. ATV's and trucks are big money on the reserve. Tell your buddy that the machine will never be recovered and has likely already been sold for much less than his deductible will be. And yes, the OPP are on the reserve quite regularly.
  15. My ATV is rated to tow that much with it's CVT and little 686cc engine. You'd think a passenger vehicle would be far more capable???
  16. You mean they aren't made in the back of the grocery store? Ya know, right beside the machine that makes steaks and drumsticks...
  17. 2006 Yamaha 90hp 4 stroke Can anyone tell me how to disassemble the lower unit bearing housing? I'm replacing the housing, bearings, and seals with new parts and want to reuse the old gear but cannot figure out how to get the old one apart. The shaft is removed so now it's just the housing with the o-ring and gear on one end...
  18. Following that logic nearly every vehicle on the road should be traveling too fast as even our boat towing pickups are easily capable of 200 km/h. Someone who has never rode a bike before can go write their M1 test, pass, and be driving an uber fast Kawi 1400 that's capable of 300 km/h the same day. On the flip side, someone can get their G1 and in the same day can be driving a 1200 hp Bugatti that's capable of 425 km/h providing their older buddy with a G is with them. People who are careless and drive too fast on their bikes typically drive in a similar fashion in their grocery getters. A bad driver is a bad driver no matter what vehicle they're in control of. You guys wanna see bad drivers? Try riding two wheels and you'll quickly learn that those on 4 wheels are far more dangerous and careless...
  19. When running spoons and cranks, troll much faster (3-3.5 mph) than you typically would for shield lake eyes. Structure on the main lake? All you'll see for miles upon miles is a totally flat bottom with little to no weeds so all you do is pick a spot and start trolling until you find the fish.
  20. Have you considered anything else? Trades will always be in demand with fewer and fewer people wanting to "get their hands dirty". For instance, a few years doing concrete work can easily result in a $30-$35/hr ($50k per 8-9 month season) position.
  21. Around here guys with no experience driving dump trucks are starting at $18-20. The company I work for in Cambridge starts their guys at $24/hr so there is definitely decent money to be made. Then you have the guys who drive straight trucks doing long hauls and making well above average income, but aren't home very often. A friend of mine works out of Milton and makes $23/hr to drive a straight truck doing furniture deliveries. Depending on your financial situation, you could buy a truck if you like the work. Owner/operators with straight trucks can easily make over $100-125k before expenses. Dump truck owner operators (I have one family member and one friend who do this) charge $70-80/hr which works out to $700-$1000 per day before expenses (take home/profit is around half your gross when you factor fuel, insurance, taxes, wear and tear) and you'll pocket plenty more money if you're capable of doing your own repairs and maintenance. How much money do IT guys typically earn?
  22. Anyone who stops in an active lane on a highway while traffic is flowing, especially just for a few ducks and not another human, is an idiot and should not have the privilege of driving on public roads. Sadly, this is just another case of innocent lives being lost due to another persons stupidity. Here's to hoping she gets 25 years.
  23. There are already far too many ECE's in Ontario due to the government paying to put so many of them through school when there was a need for more ECE's. So many in fact that school boards (where most ECE's want to work because of $$$ and benefits) often receive hundreds of applications when they post that a job is available. There are so many ECE's out there that daycares can offer to pay low wages ($12/hr) and still have people fighting over the position. By cutting corporate taxes, the result will be lower operating costs to operate in Ontario which in turn will attract more businesses and create jobs. On the flip side, the liberals have cost Ontario over 300,000 jobs since 2003 and all their green act has done is put the province deeper into debt, made hydro very expensive, and encouraged businesses to leave Ontario.
  24. Yes, but the thing is the Liberals created those 100,000 positions that weren't even required in the first place. Also, keep in mind that the "Hudak will fire 100,000 government workers" filth the Liberals keep repeating is totally untrue and it's not like those people will be fired the second the Conservatives win. It will take years for those 100,000 jobs to be cut as the plan is to avoid hiring someone to fill that position after the initial employee retires. They're not going to fire those 100,000 people, they're just not going to hire anyone to fill those positions. Service has not increased since those 100,000 positions were created and services will not be effected as it will take years to phase out those positions.
  25. I'm not sure if you're replying to what I posted or not? Anyways, the last time I shot a squirrel with my 348 fps (tested with a chronograph) crossbow I ended up using a knife to dig a zwickey judo point out of a tree that the arrow went into after passing through the squirrel. Be sure to stick with rubber blunts if you plan on using fast bows for small game to avoid over penetration.
