It's really too bad some people look at hunting with disdain. I'm not real keen on guys that hunt for trophy's only but it is their right. If a big buck comes along while I'm hunting it's going down but if I'm going to put meat in the freezer a fawn or a yearling is much better to eat. It's becoming progressively harder as we go to maintain our hunting and fishing rights. So do we hide what we do or advertise it? We are becoming a smaller percentage of the population and our rights as hunters and fishermen will eventually be taken away by those that oppose it. It's still legal to carry a gun uncased down the street here. But not many do it anymore. Dad used to take his gun to school to hunt on the way home.

Re reading your original post I see you were ripped off. You do not need to pay any charges you did not authorize.

We have discussed your problem here at the shop Terry and we feel its pressure is being limited in some manner to the rear. On the rear end there is a valve that is connected to you rear axle with a lever. The more of a load you have in the bed of your truck the more it opens the valve to allow more pressure to the wheel cylinders (more weight-more traction). It's possible the valve is stuck internally, we have replaced more than one of these for this problem. Dan it's true they are split into two sides. But this one is split front/rear. Most domestic pickups are still plumbed this way

If it is happening all the time Terry I would verify proper pressure to the rear brakes and wheel cylinders not seized or wrong size. This is where the pain in the butt ABS comes into play. Keep in mind the system "may" be working normally and it actually is preventing your rear wheels from locking up. If the speed sensor detects wheel lockup it is designed to release brake pressure to allow your rear wheels to rotate without locking to maintain directional control. On a personal note I think 4 wheel ABS systems have improved to the point it should be mandatory to install in all new cars. They do work now. I know there will be those that disagree with me and I also used say they were not as good as a driver could apply. But now most systems are much faster and more responsive than anyone could outdo manually. But these 2 wheel systems suck and should never have been used.

It's possible poor friction material quality. See this time and time again. I suspect this problem more than anything else due to the fact it only happens when wet. After a couple applications it tends to disappear. You would think a liquid would make your brakes slide but in fact oils will also make your brakes grab. Had similar problems with new F150 trucks in the late 80's. We eventually quit using OE(original equipment) pads and went to aftermarket. Recent Caravans went through a couple years of rear shoes locking on hard when wet. Solved these with quality shoes. Use only quality pads guys and gals. The deals at the chain store brake installers like to advertise low prices and they often use poor quality shoes and pads. It could be something else Terry. Rear ABS systems are not worth the powder to blow then to hell. Lots of issues, don't know why they even bother to put them on. Bill M. There are only 2 TSB's regarding brakes. The one you listed isn't the problem in this case. What happened to them is the two hoses rubbed together until it wore through the brake hose. Fluid would not be able to build pressure and fluid in the reservoir would leak out. Raf. Your vehicle most likely is a friction issue as well. It would not be a hose.

Terry. Need to know if it's a 4x4 with or without front ABS, what size engine and with or without rear disc brakes. We will solve this.

Yes it is good to see Wayne. No sympathy from me. Was on my way out to the cottage last week and I seen a guy fishing with 2 lines. Stopped by to have a chat with him. Asked him how the fishing was. "Nothing" was his reply. We chatted for a bit and he seemed like a pleasant fellow (from the good old USA), so then I told him he was allowed only 1 line. "Really?" he replied and promptly wound it in.. Well he did plead ignorant so I calmly suggested he read up on the regulations when he got back to camp.

Just noticed this in the local paper. http://www.nugget.ca/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=1234976

Nice work there Wayne. Good plan with the plywood wall. Are you enjoying the work on your place? I still prefer fixing up my place than fishing even after 5 years of doing it. Going to have to stop until after the next assessment.

Careful with your engine oils. They are not all made equal. Some are designed for specific applications. 2 stroke oils are now designed to burn to reduce emissions. Those oils that do not burn well can leave residues on rings and cylinder walls. Have seen the results of cheap oils in my shop.

Great pics Dan! Would have loved to see that finish at the track. Everyone should go to a NASCAR race at least once Dan. Lots of fun and great people.

Rebuild? Not likely the engine if it is in good condition. The engines were very reliable. Problems will entail cracked ignition coils, rusted breaker points (make sure to remove rust from point cam) lower unit seals and definitely a water pump. All relatively easy to repair.

Thanks for this Wild. I fume when it's a telemarketer phoning when I'm working.

There should be no play in the steering. Look at the shaft of the steering cable where it comes out to the engine. It should immediately move when you turn your steering wheel. If it doesn't see your dealer right away to have it repaired. Make sure all the connections are tight. This shaking you are feeling, is it only when you have it in gear or in neutral?

An upside to it Terry is it's a great snowmachine. Great ride, lots of power and dependable. Exactly what I would like as well.

Oils have become additive soups. They will have chemicals added to target specific lubrication issues in engines. Be very careful what you use. They must have the proper rating for your engine. Viscosity (thickness) and burnoff (no carbon deposits) capability are part of it. 4 stroke engines will also have specific oil ratings.

Today we had a couple older cars in. This 62 Vette is pristine. Would make it to Barrett-Jackson if the guy wanted to sell. 327CI and a powerglide. The Firebird looks good from far but far from being good. Remember Smokey and the Bandit? Had a 78 Z28. Wish I still had it. Just thought I would share.

Usually in the hub you will find two grooves on the inside part of the hub that will allow a small punch to access the inside of the race. tap on one side then the other until it is out. I use a proper race installer but if you have a brass or aluminum drift you can carefully tap in the race. Keep the bearings and races clean as possible. One sliver of debris can ruin the bearing instantly. Size your seal on the axle before installing in the hub. Its possible your seal may have been slightly too small and burned on the axle. Any rust on the axle seal surface should be removed. Deep pitting in this area will not keep water out and lubrication in and you will be doing bearings at least yearly.

NF - Music Video - Me and a friend singing "Teach Your Children"

Years ago when that tune came out new(yes-before it was a classic) it seemed like a ho-hum tune. Guess headbanging stuff was more cool at the time . Now CSN&Y are one of my favorites. What talent they were/are. You and Hazel did a wonderful rendition. It took over 20 minutes to download here on dialup, glad I did. Thank you. -
For cost effective setup for walleye/smallmouth I would look at a Shimano reel and a 6ft Lightning rod medium light action. I like the Spirex reel for the fastcast feature. You get a bit of backlash with that reel but I like them. Never have had a problem with any of my Shimano reels. My daughter also brought out a rod she bought at Basspro this year that I really liked but I can't remember what it was. Or you could do like Kemper and build your own rod.

Breeze out of the west right now. 20 C out and pleasant. See some rain coming in on the radar. Hope the weather holds out good for those coming up.

It's illegal to sell any parts of an animal from hunting because there are those out there that would kill an animal just for body parts. Gall bladder from a bear comes to mind first. I don't think you can sell your fish either.

Back then Gerritt were you the "Fishless Hamiltonian"? JK there man. If it wasn't for here I would not have met you and many other great people.

Found it surfing. This was the first forum that I actually posted anything on and it's still the first one to check on each day.
