  1. The first staple you should get is salt, lots of it. Sugar isn't a necessity. Preserving food is your first concern as there would be long periods of no kill. If animals were being hunted consistently they sure wouldn't hang around as they sometimes do now. Also your body needs salt, just not near as much as we get now. Vitamens through a long hard winter. Don't see too many oranges growing here. So what do you eat to suppliment that? Boil up some pine needles-yuck! O ya and how are you going to boil them? People that lived here for thousands of years had a hard time surviving. And some think they could do it? How many here actually spent a night in a tent in the winter? It's not pleasant even on a mild winter night with proper gear (not to me anyway). So you have all this gear. how are you going to carry it all? Where are you going to keep it so the animals don't take it away. How many of you have ever stalked an animal? They see and hear you a a lot sooner than you can see or hear them. If it ever gets that bad (it wont) make sure you bring a shovel too. You will spend a lot of time burying the dead come spring.
  2. The one shot in Temagami he was lost and walking the wrong direction at the end. The helicopter spotted him walking a lake. Don't kid yourself, not many people could survive here in the bush for a couple of days let alone a week.
  3. 15 of us at the shop all threw in 10 bucks each on top of the $50 we won on Wednesday Don't worry, I will still come here and post after winning .
  4. Hey Ben that pike must have been a fun catch. Love the fight they give. Nice pickerel too. Well done.
  5. I think it's priced too high. It's 13 years old.
  6. Recently a group of people from my hometown have been posting pictures from the past and present. It has proven to be highly interesting as there are people from past and present posting them. It's like a hometown reunion. It's grown close to 500 people now. In a small town many of the people I grew up with had to move away to find employment. It's great to hear from them again and what they are doing now. It's not a doom and gloom place at all.
  7. I think anytime you have the gumption to start a new venture you really have no idea exactly how it will turn out. Will it succeed? Will it grow? Will I make enough to survive on? I thought I had the answers before I started. But it went better than I ever expected. But like you TJ not without trials and tribulations. Glad you and the Mods stuck with it. Great place to hang out!
  8. It's hilarious to read too! Glad I wasn't the only one things like that happened to.
  9. I like it. I have nothing to hide-or fear. Lots of laughs and fun to keep in contact with others.
  10. My heart goes out to you Jacques. Very sorry for your loss.
  11. Hey Joe. Keep it simple, jig slow.....old school!
  12. He won't be too far ahead of you guys at the rate he goes. He was here for an hour. How many other stops will he make along the way? Hell you may even beat him there!.
  13. Looks like a fun weekend ahead for you guys. Have fun and I hope you all catch at least one or two.
  14. Just a couple years ago it was costing some Chev truck owners $1200 to R&R a fuel pump. They have dropped since then but only since the aftermarket started to compete. Try not to run fuel tanks low on fuel if you can help it as the fuel helps to cool them. Also change fuel filters regularly as plugged and partially plugged filters overwork the pumps.
  15. Hey Drifter, I beat you to that one. On the first page. There was one of those around here when I was a kid. It was a pretty quick car.
  16. Didn't get the chance to get down there to meet you. Maybe next time around. You show real class by thanking the gang here. No wonder you are so popular. Keep up the good work.
  17. Neat video. Never been on the river. Thanks for the ride! Hey Randy you told me earlier you were helping your kids with homework. Maybe you should get them to help you with this! Ha. I'm really picking on you tonight!
  18. If they are looking for a place to park one of those F250 4x4's there is a real nice parking spot in my driveway!
  19. Well ummmmm...I do a lot of research?????
  20. Bad Brian. Our country was built on hard working efficent companys. Swim or sink. Why support a company that isn't making the grade? Like Glen said earlier. Where are theose companys from the past? No one bailed them out. Our countrys remained viable and strong afterwards. Supporting failure only leads to more failure.
  21. You could be right GCD. I hope not though. Amc had a couple of neat cars. They had a hotrod in the late 60's. Was a nice looking car too. An AMX if I recall. And the Eagle was an interesting concept but it was poorly made. All wheel drive made it a good winter car.
  22. Have you had to change many of the TCCM modules? We have replaced a few. When you were shimming the clutch pack did you go by the TSB and the tool? If so did you go OE? We have seen this fluid leak to transfer case issue more on the Fords. By the way, certification will have nothing to do with this problem. It only pertains to safety items on a vehicle.
  23. Now that's a fishing report! Well done Sinker! Great to get out with the kids. It will be a day they will remember.
  24. You will like the glass Lew. It's still my preference for how I use a boat.
  25. Have been to Bristol to watch a race. Best place to watch a race bar none. You can see the whole track from just about everywhere. The whole place shakes when they are running. Awesome is an overused word but it's the only one to describe it. Would go again in a heartbeat.
