His "brain fart" led to much larger "skid marks".

Of all the vehicles that come into my shop Honda seems to stand out as one of the most reliable vehicles. Not overly fancy but tried and true. There is a reason they hold their value. Great choice!

As I was scrubbing up the supper dishes I was thinking why didn't they start the race a little sooner. Especially if there was a threat of rain. So attempting to think logically, which can sometimes be difficult when you are trying to figure out NASCAR, it occurred to me that there were 200,000 thousand people there. So for every hour the people are there they will be spending money on souvenirs, beer, and food. More would be spent before the race. Also why didn't they wait a little longer before canceling the race? Seems to me they should have waited a little bit longer. Did anyone else catch one of the track announcers say it had stopped raining? That was at 8 o'clock. Update....Watching Despain. Waltrip says its still raining.

I didn't say I don't like Jr. because I do think he's a good guy. But you are right, he isn't his daddy, not by a long shot. Just calling it as I see it. If I was the car owner and seeing him screw up in the pits and get himself in trouble pushing too hard to make up for it I would not be too happy.

Depends on your insurance company. Some will, some don't. If you are going to drive on the ice you should always check with several local folks that go on the lake themselves. Know the waterway and it's nuances. Currents from creeks and rivers after rains and mild spells erode ice thickness quickly. Pressure cracks seem to form up here when it's cold and the ice is expanding. Fissures can form during mild spells.

Rain sure messed up that race. Too bad it didn't have a proper finish. Jr is his own worst enemy. He has good cars but he often seems to screw up something along the way.

It's more than a brain fart. More like he's on cheap drugs.

Any Talk of Ontario Lakes Banning Two Strokes
Bernie replied to GeorgeJ's topic in General Discussion
Have been running a 175 E-TEC for the last 4 summers. Great engine in my opinion. Lighter and better on fuel than my previous 130 Honda not to mention the extra 45 HP . Less emissions too. I would buy another one, it's been trouble free. I have heard nothing of banning them. Yes Lunker, they are a 2 stroke. -
Put it away for your great grandson Mike. It may have increased it's value by then. Unless you have a rare one it takes a long time.

They do? Ha, wish I did.

There are many people out there that pay their dues. I have that much money tied up in tools alone in my toolbox. Five years as an apprentice, three in school, and keeping up with the ever changing technology in automotive by attending seminars and courses on a constant basis. Imagine if all the mechanics went on strike. Talk about shutting down a whole country. How much are we worth now?

Very cool ! Thank you. It will be useful in the future.

It's a sad commentary really. Have seen several people from my past including a couple good friends get messed up and they are only a portion of their former selves. Another thing is that many of them were exceptionally talented. Hopefully it was an act on his part. It would be a shame to have a talent such as his ruined.

Thats my point Cram. Would they forgo a pay increase if they no longer needed to do this? So all teachers are putting money out of their own pockets? I could be wrong but somehow I doubt it.
-
Thanks for the update dOUG. Good to hear he is on the mend.

You can say what you want about teachers and whatever else people do for a living. People that work are contributing to the values in our fine country. Yes there are times (like now) that even the good workers are unemployed. But many of us work hard and I am sure we all have our tales of how hard it can be. There were times starting up my business working seven days a week 16 hour days over the first 5 years. But a strike now (by any union) I don't believe is a good plan. Sure will create lots of hard feelings. I honestly don't know how much teachers make but it isn't a pittance and they have some good benefits and pensions. If they are honestly concerned about the kids let them forgo a pay increase so the money could go towards the supplies required.

Seen the post and said to myself " I can help with this one". Copper nails are common around my place. LOL

Glad to hear you are on the mend BC. Nasty stuff!

Ran chains on the front on a previous set of tires because I had no clearance on the rear. Worked well on the front of mine because it also improves steering direction and braking. Ideally i would use them on all 4 tires. My ATV is full time 4wd with power to all 4 wheels all the time. If the ATV you are putting them on is limited slip on the front probably would be best on the rear.

Don't know too many shops down your way Skeeter. Perhaps some other OFC'ers could suggest a local for you. As far as an estimate goes it will depend a lot on what needs to be replaced. And you won't know for sure until it comes apart.
-
No it wouldn't. The only way is if it was submerged.

Ain't had this much fun since grandma got her boob caught in the wringer.

Lack of oil is a real possibility Wayne, but conditions today would call for a lot more throttle in slush and heavy snow and that's where lean carbs blow pistons. I had mine out on the lake today too and had it pinned to the bar several times. That's why I suggested that is the "likely" cause. It was more for a heads up to fix the cause as well as the symptom for anyone when fixing up any kind of engine.

Mmmmmmmm... trout! No skunk makes for a good day Limey. Good for you getting out there.
