More than likely a piston has seized. But why did it happen? These engines are quite durable. There is usually a cause to the problem. Most of the time it is because of a lean condition from a restricted jet in a carburator or a bad seal in the crankcase. See this happen often where guys come in buy the parts and get thier buddy to fix them up but they don't fix the real issue. Then they blame the machine

Rodney Dangerfield got no respect either. Don't feel too bad! How are ya on rivets in cedar?

Hey Chris...cool project. I can see you are going to need a bigger boat!

Well I hooked the trailer up but it wuz draggin' just a little at the front. The ball on the bumper wuz the wrong size too. So I had to adapt a taller bracket up. It sagged out the tailgate a little so jammed in a 4x4 . By golly that helped a lot. So now all I gotta do is load up the fishin' pole and a few jigs and away we goes. You all got a place I can plug the tv in thar GCD?

Good for you. Feels great doesn't it! Sneaking up on 5 months for me too. Passed the test a couple weeks ago when the guys were up here fishing. O boy it was tempting at times but held off. Few extra bucks in the wallet and a cough free morning. Not to mention I can smell things again.

Years back it was the best thing that ever happened to me. But I didn't know it at the time. It got me out of a big rut and on towards a great career. I went back to school ( Automotive apprenticeship). Still do it today and run my own shop. It's a great time to reevaluate your career and do it.

Actually it already is 3 years old and going on to 4. This better be a 4 wheel drive for that price. If they don't bargain better than that say thanks but no thanks. Just remember that there are lots of vehicles out there right now, take your time! Don't ever show a salesman you are excited about a vehicle! Good salesmen are pros. They know how to sell, they do it for a living. You only buy a car once in a while. Be careful!

I didn't want to look. Kind of figured what I would see. Ha ....I was right. Now I want to go there. Great fish Ben!

My mouth is watering! Awesome report Sinker. Good for you and your enthusiasm for fishing. Glad you are on our team!

Way back then that boat was probably one of the fastest around. The boats are quite light for thier size. I can recall riding in it although I was very young. Dad ran Snow Cruisers all the years they were made. They were heavy but much more reliable than anything else at the time. Important when you were heading out on the lake, there were not many other folks out on the ice back then. In the winter the old brute would hardly get a chance to cool off. Lots of good times!

Bought a scanner for slides and negatives and started to go through some of the slides in my dads collection. Here's a few samples.

Just read Ben Beattie's walleye artcicle in Real Fishing

Atta boy Ben. I knew you could do it! Looking forward to reading your story. -
Steve. To me a vehicle needs to be functional first and reliable second. Use to have big vehicle payments.....no more. Spend my money on more important things. Like a boat and motor . Looks means little to me. Although I wouldn't mind having a 69 Camaro SS.

To a point EC. The front axles are turning as well as the diff gears. Yes they are disengaged in 2wd hi but in AWD they are engaged. There is also the extra weight involved in 4x4 equipped vehicles. So they do burn a little more fuel. Personally still would not buy a 2wd though. 4WD is great. Talk all you want about domestics vs imports. Durability is the issue in my opinion. There is a reason the domestics are in trouble. People are tired of buying poor durability. Ya ya....I know the the imports have issues too but not even close to the same amount and they are generally looked after right away without a fight. Saddens me greatly to have to say it's true.

A few years ago I was heading out across the small bay with my boat full of building materials. It was weighed down pretty good and I was taking it very easy going. Then all of a sudden there were a mass of bass boats and a helicopter filming the action blasting past me heading out to go fishing. They were not caring about me and my boatload and the wake they were causing. Some of you may remember "The last cull"? I was glad when that bunch was gone. Kind of left a bad taste in my mouth for bass tourney fishing. We have a couple tourneys come through each year. For a couple weeks after the osprey and seagulls are dining on a few bass. I don't think the bass fishers hurt the population at our part of the lake as they are not fished a lot otherwise. It's just what I have observed.

I hauled this across the lake on 16" of blue ice. The boathouse is 18'X24'.

Had this one for a little over 5 years. 1996 F150, last of the old style. Been one of the best I ever had although I miss my full size Broncos from the past. But the pickup is much handier for hauling stuff. Saves hauling a trailer most of the time. She's got a 5.8 under the hood which is enough power for whatever I do with it. Just shy of 270,000 km and works great. PS. Careful what you say about the Tundra NES.

It has come to my attention that in Yahoo groups they track you everywhere. To opt out go to yahoo groups, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on privacy policy. Go to preferences and hit opt out (if you want to). You have to do this on each computer you use it on. I wonder how many other programs do the same. I am too dang trusting of things. I will be more cautious when I add something new from here on.
