Very nice! What do you use for stabailizing? I've looked into a process to stabilize knife handles but never got around to it. Have you used desert ironwood burl at all? I have a few knives in it and it makes a great durable wood. -
Fire starters for emergency if needed. Do you carry anything?

I use cotton balls soaked in Vaseline and light it with a Ferro rod. I made starters with a Ferro rod attached to an aluminum pill capsule. I can fit about four cotton balls in there. They're super compact and keep one on an emergency key chain along with a whistle and compass. In my full blown kit I carry a film container with the balls and a few sticks of fat wood. I also carry a Ferro rod on my knife sheath. -
I grew up fishing the lake, I do a trip every year with my dad and brother. . Find a map and PM me. I can prob give you a few of my fav spots

I have a few in my jigs tray. I have yet to throw one though. I'll have to try one of my keitech swimbaits on one. I've been throwing these swimbaits steady this summer.

I used rocker panel coating (rubberized, similar to bedliner but more flexible) on my plastic bumpers and lower door cladding. I top coated it in a satin black bumper coating for UV resistance. This is what a buddy that owns an auto body shop suggested for my application.

I live in Niagara Falls and we never lost power in this part of the city. -
I've done some research on this topic and you really do need bow and stern lines. I've seen a solution for the front of the vehicle where a small loop of strapping is secured into the body in the seam of the hood using a bolt and washers. I'll try and find a pic if this isn't clear. This would prevent uou having to find a tie point in the under body, causing the ropes to rub on the vehicle body and possibly mark the paint. For the back without a trailer hitch you will probably need to find an under body tie point.

I just have the kayak model I believe. It's the smallest one. Works well for bass

I use an ego slider with a rubber net. It's the shortest one and works well from shore or from a boat. If I had to buy again I'd go for one with a larger basket, I have trouble getting some of the larger trout in it when fishing in the Niagara glen.

Are you using a cartridge style fuel filter or an inline style? Depending on the strength of the fuel pump it could be too much restriction. -
I did primer and tremclad on mine two years ago and the rust is starting to poke through in a few spots.

I'm not sure about sourcing it but I used marine paint on my trailer. We use it to paint structural steel where I work. It is an amercoat product (5154 rings a bell but don't quote me on it) We get it in pails from PPG.

Missed the backwoods trail part, I was thinking along the lines of clearing a large area. How about a small axe/large hatchet for the small trees and branches? I have a gransfors small forest axe and really like it. Although as fang pointed out you would need to be mindful, they're $$

Brush mowers are prob the quickest way depending on the size of the brush you're clearing. If you're renting in the first place it is worth looking into. They'll usually handle up to an inch or so, you therefore will prob still need a chainsaw.

I prefer a strap by far. I swapped out the cable on my 71 searay for a strap

any recommendations for a new bass rod?

I'd suggest jumping on a sale for a dobyns champion 733 or 734. I throw 5" senkos on my dobyns champion extreme 743 and it feels perfect. The 7" might be above the sweet spot on a 3 power rod.
