  1. Pick yourself up the depth contour map book. I believe it has rock lake in it, if you're doing a circuit it also has Louisa which is a gorgeous lake. If you do hit up Louisa let me know, I was there last year and caught many lakers.
  2. In the summer the lake and brook trout are in the deeper parts of the lake. I usually troll spoons or small jointed rapalas on a 3-way rig with 1 to 2 ounce weights.
  3. What techniques is everyone going to be trying? I had great luck with sinners and cranks last year, especially the bomber fat free shad. Going to try more tubes and other plastics this year.
  4. Hopefully I'll be in the upper Niagara river. Had a big smallie hit my DC10 when I was casting for Muskie last weekend.
  5. When I was alot younger I was up at lake baptiste with my dad and my brother for our yearly boys fishing trip. It was getting near dark and I started putting loose tackle back in the boxes. My brother was standing up front casting a rapala J13. He made his cast and on the backswing the rear treble hook caught me in the eyelid, luckily it didn't hit my eyeball! My dad ended up having to cut it out as the barb had penetrated the skin. All we had was a large filet knife that he used while resting it between his thumb and forefinger. To be honest I was terrified that I wouldn't be able to see and my brother was so upset that he vomited. Everything turned out alright and I ended up with a good story to tell.
  6. I've been using booyah spinner baits for a while now but really like the looks of those CL spinners. Do they only do online ordering or are they available at any tackleshops
  7. I recently picked up a shimano curado 300E and intend to use it as my Muskie reel. I understand it might be a bit light duty go throwing DC10s all day but maybe that's a good excuse for me to eventually get a Calcutta 400TE. I also got the 300E to pull double duty as a salmon and trout reel
  8. The bed liner coating would probably be the most durable, just not sure how it would come out with the DIY kit, I think it's applied by roller. We use alot of marine/industrial paints where I work so my buddy just paints up our boat trailer with that.
  9. I've heard the u-haul hitches are made by curt, who in turn makes some of the nicest setups. I have a curt on my forester and am very happy with it. The install is super easy as others have mentioned. Check out etrailer dot com for pricing and some really good video tutorials.
  10. Great looking conehead zuddlers, I've been meaning to try tying some up. Those panther martin spinners should do well as well as the spoons. My fav spoons have been the Williams warblers and the EGB spoons.
  11. It was my line of choice for all my reels until I started using seaguar abraizx floro. I actually still use it if I'm floating or tossing top water baits.
  12. I've been on north tea for three seperate trips and really enjoy the area. The portage between north tea and manitou (the one to the east, there are two) is along side a nice stream and a good place to mess around for a few hours. I've caught some good size smallmouth off the islands in the north east arm of manitou as well.
  13. Double post... Damn you mobile layout!
  14. Pulled the plugs and shined a light inside.
  15. I used a can at the end of last season because the plugs in my 100hp 1978 Merc had gotten pretty bad and caused the cylinders and pistons to get pretty carboned up. Seemed to clean em out pretty well, I'll probably put another can through when I get it on the water this season.
  16. I run 87octane in my 78 merc SS1000 and don't have any problem.
  17. The wiring is most likely in parallel, Loads rarely get wired in series. This sounds like a ballast. If you have some basic experience with residential wiring it shouldn't be too hard for you to replace.
  18. RIP a true legend. I've played many Marshall amps but never owned one. My Bogner Shiva is modeled after a hotrodded Marshall and has an amazing tone.
  19. If you plan on bottom Bouncing I would suggest pre-tying a bunch of three-way rigs. I tie 8-16 and store them on those lindy rig wraps. I've also seen guys use pipe insulation.
  20. Check out the route into booth lake from the east side. I remember it being relatively easy and booth has some good fishing.
  21. I use a baitcaster for floating on the Niagara.
  22. The 200e7 is a solid and versatile reel. I've had mine for about three years without complaint. I've set up four other fishermen buddies with them and they all like em. I also picked up a 200e5 for cranking and a 300e for steelhead and Muskie/big baits. The core is extremely nice but almost twice the cost. As was mentioned the new chronarchs
  23. If you can pick up the previous interation of the curado IMO that would be your best bet. The 200e7 is a great all around reel. I like st. Croix rods but personally feel the mojo series are overly tip heavy. I have mine on last year's shimano crucial with a cork split grip and really like the setup.
  24. Another vote for merrells from me. I've bought nothing but for the last 10 years or so. I'd really like to try some kaylands for my next pair but they're hard to find around here.
