  1. I agree whole heartedly. At that size and knowing the area well I suspect most will end up in the bellies of young perch, sunfish and rock bass that are numerous there.
  2. Yep, here's the link. http://www.thespec.com/news/local/article/766639--walleye-in-harbour-seen-as-positive-sign
  3. Thanks SRT8, I don't get out as near often as I'd like to but if I find myself heading down that way I'll definitely let you know.
  4. Great pics Frankie and *Juli*, thanks for not only taking the time to take them all, but also for posting and linking them. It was my first outing to the Fish-a-Thon and though I didn't participate in the actual event I'm already planning on popping up a tent for the weekend next year and actually fishing it. My support will always be there as long as I'm able. It was wonderful to finally meet you Frankie and the Mrs' and see some familiar faces as well as some new ones, SRT8 comes to mind right off. To those who made it happen, up front and behind the scenes, to quote Ryan, "You guys rock."
  5. I'm no expert Raf but my thoughts are, dig/auger hole large enough to accommodate a Sono tube about 3" to 4"s larger than the base of the pole. Plant it at least 4' deep (or more if you can) with a little concrete at the base of the hole, insert Sono tube, center and back fill then get some muscle to insert the pole, center pole and fill with with fast set concrete and Bobs your Uncle.
  6. No country here..... <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/K7W6xV1iHuo" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> ....or the entire session here.... <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/k8byXSML4bY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  7. Good to know Mike, thanks for the timely reply.
  8. Did you bring your dog Mike?

    Bears

Work is out for most and it's the start of the weekend, get out and have fun all. Play safe and be bear weary.
  10. Belated best wishes young fella. I was reminded of this post when I saw your photo this morning (as mentioned previously) in this months OOD. Two great events in one month without even consideration to all those great fishing days.
  11. Well if it came down to a choice between those two I'd go for the sharks. I have sharks so I'm likely biased, but they're the best rigger weights I've used thus far.
  12. I had a 76, 25 horse Johnson that did that, clutch dog was worn. Replaced it and the detent spring while I had it apart, problem solved.
  13. Nope, still not working Roy, I've been able to access my photos but can't upload any.
  14. Can't even compare to standing on the floor of a hot rolling mill turning bars with tongs and feeding the next mill, long johns required to keep your skin from burning. Not to mention working next to the iron runner in the blast furnace or next to a steel making vessel wearing heavy heat reflective clothing.
  15. Thanks Bud. I know Fish Farmer has it, if he happens to see this thread.
  16. His name is Malcolm but I'll be darned if I can locate his phone number.
  17. Love Vernors Gingerale Terrence, takes me back to my youth fishing with Grampa and stopping in those little country stores where you pulled a bottle right out of ice water! But given that I don't think you'll find bottled Vernors, but most every grocery store in Hamilton has 12 packs of canned Vernors, your brothers only need to look for it. Oh and it does taste every bit as good, just lacks the nostalgia. Add in....A quick search shows Metros carries it locally here in Hamilton
  18. Don't forget that the possession for Atlantic Salmon is one and must be greater than 63cm (24.8"s).
  19. You're welcome. While Ron and I didn't connect with wallies I'm certain we were in the right area and due to weather we only got out there once over the week. You have a great trip, be safe.
  20. Fished the area once several years back Laz, with Ron. Deep water can be had at the south end of East Hardwood Island. I followed his directions while I motored out as he knew the area and said they're were rocks to watch out for. We didn't get any "eyes" but we did get a number of big sheephead.
  21. Can you dig it Brian. I could listen to this repeatedly for hours...... <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/tM-iDOWUA9U" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Or live if you prefer, not the greatest audio but Neil still rocks! <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/gE8i3-JyJvU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  22. Thanks for that, never heard it, but I likes it. I'll have to delve into that album a little more.
  23. Make a phone call to Bay City Marine Darren (905-574-1222 ), they sell Yamahas. I got a spare aluminium prop for my 2006, 75 Merc off them a few years ago for $100.00 though I did bargain with them for it.
