  1. Never have, not sure I'd even know how. Also never use a float with the line running on the outside, line through floats only.
  2. In 30 plus years of float fishing for steelhead I've never tied on a swivel.
  3. If your new truck is taking you and your boat fishing, I'd think it fishing related.

  5. This was the first post I read this morning Paul, didn't set the day off well for me as I have travelled this path fairly recently. My heart felt condolences to you and your family.
  6. Thanks again all, truly appreciated. A lot of time and effort goes into these style of wraps with multiple coats of finish (several hours) and I still believe I'm not charging enough! Oh and nice to see you on board the last few days Sam. I hope all is well?
  7. Thanks everyone. I've had lots of guys ask for similar style wraps over the years Rob but they usually balk when I tell them how much.
  8. Just thought I'd share a couple of pictures of the finished wrap that I posted about here..... http://ontariofishin...showtopic=65999 As I noted previously the end results would have a much darker appearance than the pre finish photos. So after two thin coats of finish on the end wraps to bring the surface level with the weaved thread and one coat over the entire area we now have this.....
  9. I still have roe in my freezer from many years past, all harvested legally along with meals well enjoyed. It's rare for me to keep more than 2 or 3 fish a season of any species but I'll be damned if someone tells me I have to throw the roe away from legally caught and retained fish that were wonderfully consumed by me and my children, who by the way enjoy fresh steelhead over any other fish. To point I rarely bring any fish home but they love steelhead and given that I'll selectively harvest a few each fall and if the roe is there I'll take it and use it. My choice, my right! Snidley, lose the attitude or be gone!
  10. You've come a long way in a short time with your work Garry. I'm impressed.
  11. Welcome back Clive. It's been far too long since we had a face to face, perhaps you can make the still yet undecided date at the Firehall G2G.
  12. I'm still praying for the complete irradication of Pacific Salmon from our waterways.....
  13. Yep, a whole lot of wood thanks to you Sir. I'll be looking to get it stabilized at some point before using. I can show you John if you're ever in the neighbourhood.
  14. I'm sure I can swing it and because I'm without a vehicle I'll get the lovely Miss Julie to accompany me.
  15. Thanks everyone. Just got the finish end wraps on. While it appears bright now, it'll be finished without colour preserver which will have the garnet thread become quite dark, sort of like black cherry.
  16. Sounds like a good idea, we're way overdue.
  17. Thanks bud, it'll be finished without CP which will make it a lot less dramatic than the picture.
  18. Totally speechless Rob. What a great report, distance travelled, weather traversed to spend time fishing with Ben. You were obviously in good hands! The proof is in the pictures with some impressive fish hauled over the gunnels.
  19. I said fishing related Rob. But I do have an appt. for a new lens prescription as my current one is way out dated.....
  20. Not only beauty but of solid size too. Nicely done, congrats to you!
  21. I'd do it for you Craig, lets talk money.
