I came across this this morning and figured I'd share the link.
I'm not sure these things do help but I signed.

Some of you may recall last Christmas a post where some of the folks here were offering some of their homemade goodies as gift ideas for members.
Well Joey had these cool prints of fish on rice paper she made (can't recall the style name?), but I saw one that caught my eye and asked her to hold it for me till I could pay. She gladly agreed. I can't recall exactly when I received it but it was shortly after Christmas.
Well I finally had it framed and I'm very happy. What can't be seen in the picture very well is the gold metallic in the fish which is subtly picked up with some gold in the frame I chose. It's a tweed type matting which looks great with the rice paper. I only wish they could have matted it with fewer flaws but they said that was the nature of rice paper. Overall size is 20" x 23"
Anyway I've yet to hang it but here it is.
Thanks all. I just spent an extended weekend away in it, wow, roomy, comfy and with all the amenities for staying away for long periods of time. Happy, happy!
I've taken some good walleye at this time of year (June) with the fly rod using emerging patterns and dry fly patterns representing the Hexagenia hatch (both Rigida and Limbata) which is what is happening now. These large burrowing still water mayflies (aka shadflies not stoneflies) are what the walleye are keying in on right now where they are present. Which is most every lake in the province.
Many tactics will work just keep the presentation small, a 1" tail piece of a dewy dragged or suspended on a small wire hook can be dynamite.
Well after 22 months without wheels I finally pulled the trigger to get a new vehicle for pulling the boat.
Doubles as a home away from home quite nicely, no tent required.
Cheers
I've known of "Towarf" almost as long as I've been alive.
Props to you Peter for being a big part of it's going forward to date and for all you and past members have done to assist and care for those on the big lake.
Cheers

I was going to mention that a good friend of mine is a walking encyclopedia on antique lures but once I clicked on the link I see that he wrote the article.
Thanks for posting Lew.
Thanks again all.
No worries Bud, I don't see a "derail" just an opportunity to learn something I hadn't been aware of.
Book marked the link for future reading. Thank you.
Define a few for me Dave as I've seen the millions on your rod (I presume your an extremist).....LOL
The latest completed rod out of the shop is for Floatman55.
It was a bit of an undertaking with all the involved requests but in the end it came out quite nice.
Both Floatman55 and I are happy with the end results.
Here's a wee bit of how it came together....
The wood is figured Koa, came to me as a 10" long block by 1.5" square.
Here it is roughly rounded and oiled to see the grain....
After several hours of shaping sanding and finishing it became this. It's fitted with solid titanium hardware from Lemke (top shelf components bar none!).
Here's a look at the rest of the wood components before installation on the blank....
Handle now on the Sage One 6126-4 blank....
And finally the now finished rod. Titanium Fuji guides to compliment the Lemke Titanium reel seat with black wraps and metallic pewter trim to tie it all together....
Cheers
