I don't put the pouch on my reel when landing a fish because I developed a wading staff with a rod holder built into the shaft, so when I land the fish my rod is put into the rod holder in my staff which is stuck in the ground. I,like Bill don't want to get any kind of crud into my reel by setting it down and I don't want myself or anyone else stepping on my rod.
Just before I net or tail the fish I always put my clicker on, so if i mess up the reel isn't going to over run. Basically I fight the same way as I would with spinning gear, but you have to remember that you are creating the drag.
It would be neat to see how it is launched. Those rails the tires are riding on must slide back. May be prone to roll overs and wind drag would be something else.
Unfortunately ,in the BC case, the occupants of the canoe went out without PFDs . Not saying that they would help in the cold water, but may have stayed up a little longer for some other boater to see and rescue them.
Another part of their proposal is a 2$ admission fee because it now costs more for the US company to handle our Canadian Information, but this fee will apply to everyone.
My brother in law switched to the e-cig with no intention of quitting, he says that he is avoiding the other bad elements in normal smoke. I wouldn't get involved because ,as already stated, more restrictions are coming.
Yes ! The MNR are proposing that any one over 65 will need a valid outdoors card and pay 80% of the cost for either a conservation ot sport fishing licence.
