    Sorry...

Looks great, congrats on your meal. I also had my first wild meal, although not quite like yours, I had a feeding of grouse on the weekend. Makes one feel good and in touch with nature.
  2. just the bracketed shots, Dan. The final is OK, just seems no difference, at least I can't see it, with the darker or brighter bracketed pics.
  3. Geez, thought I died and went to heaven. It's how I feel about hunting and fishing, but don't think I'd ever be able to put it to words like you did. And to think it was coming from a woman is just awesome. Most men don't even seem to get it. Great report and good for you. Welcome to the beautiful outdoors.
  4. Looks like a great and successful trip. Here's to many more.
  5. Still no reply, should we call out the search and rescue.
  6. Apparently I'm a dead entertaining alcoholic and my grandfather was once Prime minister. Dean Martin and Paul Martin.
  7. Because it's raining
  8. I can get trailer stuff up here at out Western Tire, but not sure of where to get them in your area. You can find lots on the net that probably be shipped in a couple of days, just google Bunk Brackets. This is what some look like. Then you just drill a hole though the middle of a 2x4 and cover with outdoor carpet or similar.
  9. My 14 ft boat trailer just uses to metal brackets with carpetted 2x4's. the swiwel up and down like a see saw. Plenty good for lighter boats and real cheap.
  10. Great shot's Brandon, even on company time. LOL As for the HDR, I hear you guys, most of mine are HDR lately also. I've been using the bracketing feature on mine, but it only lets me do +-1. But then I just take 2 more pics manually switching to +-2. So I've used 5 pics for several pics. Have also went to +-3 but find them to bright and to dark, so I'm not sure if there really adding anything. What's you (guy's) opinion on that. Like I said, I can set the bracketing only to +-1, but I can start with +1EV, get 3 pics (+2,+1,0) and then set the next at -1 and get 3 pics (-2,-1,0) which gives me 5 pics, I just use only one of the 0EV.

    Sun rays

Took this yesterday, the sun was shining through the clouds. Thought it looked neat.
  12. Yeah, your on the right track. Looking forward as you always got some great pics.
  13. That looks pretty good, the sky should be more defined though. HDR helps bring out the clouds or the bright blue sky.
  14. looking not too bad, I think you can use a little more contrast. Check the link Dan provided, it gives you some good setting to start with.
  15. Thanks for the replies, he will be using the GPS for speed, but he was, as I, curious to how they worked cause i was not familiar with them. Now I know the basics.
  16. like fishnsled said, have someone lift one side to get the wheel of the ground and give it a spin, spins ok with no grinding noises then just hold bottom and top and push/pull with each hand to see if there's any play, no play (movement) is good. The rest is just check that springs or bolts aren't worn or broken. Frame, lights, and winch with strap/cable is OK and you should be good to go. Any problems can be easily fixed, you just have to figure out if it's worth any added cost to the selling cost. Pretty basic really, could be more to it if you were pulling a big boat though, but a 14ft aluminum is pretty light.
  17. good laugh, thanks Gerrit.
  18. I see it to excessive for sure, unless the dogs were attacking any livestock, there's no justification to shooting them. Has no one heard of animal control. Wow shooting is way too extreme. As for the dogs causing a stir just by being there, hell, the blast of a shotgun would startle the animals more. Warning shots would of scared the dogs off. Crazy country we live in, you can't shoot someone in your house robbing you, but someone's dog in your yard is OK. Pathetic.
  19. nice deal, but i would think it under powered with only a 40hp. Great when your alone but get four big guys in there and she'll slow down a bit. Had a 14 ft aluminum with a 15hp and worked great, but when visitors came to camp to go fishing, I couldn't go to the good spots cause the extra weight (visitors) slowed me down way to much, so we fished closeby and usually didn't do all that well. I now have a 25hp honda 4 stroke, but four big guys still slows me down a bit, but i still get about 18mph, as oppose to 8mph with the 15.
  20. Seeing as we have the Photography section and most fisherman love animals, we need a post with pictures of our pets. I am a dog lover myself and have 2 dogs, I am also dogsitting at this present time, so there are 3 dogs wandering around my home. First off is Max, he's my boy, German Sheppard and big like a horse. Then we have Mishu, part Shtzu and Maltese. She was suppose to be for the wife, but is daddy's girl. And our happy companion, Keisha, she's having a great time here. And here they are together doing what they love to do, enjoying the outdoors. So let's see your pets.
  21. Great shots and that got me thinking, we need a post your pet pics thread.
  22. My neighbor has a new boat (to him) actually an 88 fiberglass with an 80 merc on the back. He was out riding and noticed the speedo on the boat was way off compared to his GPS. He asked if I new how it worked, the only speedo's I ever seen were with the piece that went on the back that was spring loaded and moved up further the faster you went. But he doesn't have that. So the question is how does it work? is it off the tach and can it be calibrated. Any insight would help.
  23. Gotta admit, I'm loving the global warming, it's been a beautiful fall so far. And if we get another winter like last year, I'll be doing more than my part on cutting back. I only used half of a tank of oil to heat my house last year, as oppose to 1 1/2 to 2 tanks the previous years. Living up north only has advantages for us, so bring on the global warming. As for the cause of it, I agree to disagree, I haven't seen any proof man is causing it.
  24. Great tour, with great pics. When you look around, you see there's lot's to take pics of.

Here's another pic I got, I got it the same time I got the spawning fish pics. It's the swing bridge to Manitoulin Island.
