Yeah that's always been a memorable shot, great capture Lew.

    Large Beehive

That's a cool shot Joey, we had one at camp in a tree that looked like someone had thrown a volley ball up a tree.
  3. Definitely need to use a tripod, the longer shutter speeds need no movement at all. Try using even longer shutter and make sure your aperture is open for the most light. Here's a photo I got the other night, it appears to be bright, but it was actually pretty dark. Camera: Sony DSC-H2 Exposure: 2 sec (2) Aperture: f/2.8 Focal Length: 6 mm ISO Speed: 80 Exposure Bias: 0/10 EV Flash: Flash did not fire

    Sunrise

Great shots Lew, some of the best shots are flukes. Capturing an instance in time. The last ones doesn't look over edited, looks like a beautiful sunrise though. Your a man of many talents.

    Snow Ride

Funny thing here, I got green grass in my front yard and 10kms up the road north, there's all that snow.
  6. Wow, that's sounds like a great trip. Bring a GPS or pick up Microsoft Street and trips with GPS navigator and use it with a laptop. You'll always know where you are, and where your going. You can also find points of interest along the way. Have a great time.

    Snow Ride

Went for an awesome ride with my son on Sunday, we took the quads out and there was fresh snow on the ground. What a beautiful day out and the fresh snow made everything look so clean and new. Here's two of the pics we got. Enjoy.
  8. Pretty amazing, animals are a lot smarter than man thinks.

    Snowy Creek

This one was a hit on Flickr and FO3 even mentioned it, so I thought I'd share this one with the great people here. Just taken the other day. Good Morning all.
  10. Great shots Brandon, BC has beautiful landscape, I especially like all the greens. I wish I could of spent more time at Lynn Creek, what beautiful water there.
  11. The 5th pic with the water pouring is my favorite, now's a great time for ice and water pics.

That looks pretty cool PB. Here's a pic that I did with color and B&W. I like it cause it looks like the B&W has it's own frame.
  13. Thanks FO3, I appreciate your input. I'm always adding more to Flickr, so keep checking up on it once in a while. And keep your pics coming, I enjoy them.
  14. Went to Lake Wahnapitae for a little ride and was pleasantly surprised with beautiful ice formations. Here's 2 pics, I have more at Flickr. The ShoreLine The Icicles
  15. Awesome pic Brandon. Get that thing cleaned, time 's a wasting. LOL
  16. slide the temperature to +1 or +2 in Photomatix, i use -2 for bluer skies, but for snow the +'s work better. Cool pics though.
  17. Sorry I'm of no help, all I've ever had/used has been Sony's. But Most of the big names camera's are good.
  18. Some nice shots there WJ. A little overexposed, as most camera's tend to do. Using a photo editing software, you could really enhance those pics. You could even try the level autofix for most pics or up the contrast. Stll great and keep them coming.

Well, I've found that not all pics will always get you what you want, but with more exposures, the better. One trick I do with my camera at first, to take the pics is set it to aperture priority. And using the bracketing feature I set the exposure to +-1EV (either or), take the three pics, then set it to the other-+1EV and get three more. Now I have 6 pics, (+2,+1,0,0,-1,-2) discard one of the 0EV's and use the five. Depending on the lighting, sometimes I get a +-3, then I'll use 6. Using many photos helps reduce noise. In Photomatix, there is a save and load button, I have about 5 different settings saved, I use these for a basis point. Sometimes I'll try each one to see what's closest to what I'm looking for, and then use that one. Then comes moving the sliders to achieve that extra little something to get a satisfied result. Here's one of my Detailed Enhanced settings. Strength = 70 Color Saturation = 64 Light smoothing = one over right from center Luminosity = 5 Tone White Point = 4.308 Black Point 1.130 Gamma = 1.00 Micro Smoothing = 2 All the rest are zero I find that for a blue sky, Temperature -2 seems to work best. It can be tricky figuring out the fine tuning, but if you go to the extremes of each slider, one at a time, you'll see what it effects better to know what your adjusting. Give it a shot and remember to save the setting before you fine tune, then the next time you can just load that setting and start from there. Hope that helps. Here's another photo I did yesterday
  20. Amazing what you can do with a brush, another awesome piece of work.

Here's a pic I took today. Using 6 exposures, this is the HDR result. I really am happy with the way this one turned out. Must be viewed in the larger size to really appreciate the pic. Enjoy
