  1. I dunno but I doubt Frabill makes a cradle big enough for Bambi
  2. I salute you for resurrecting this boat and giving it a renewed lease on life. I only wish I had the time and space to do what you're doing ! I'm itching to see the finished boat
  3. Man, now I want to hear the long version !! and yup, Terence musta been pumped to have landed that beast and props all around for taking care of this beauty !
  4. Look beyond North America BB and the picture may look different. I hope our Great Lakes will still be that a few generations down the road but am hopeful what with the Water Pact and all.
  5. Indeed and food and water will be huge issues (as if they aren't already) down the road and fresh water will be the next 'oil'.
  6. Talk to most on the doom train and overpopulation will be up top if not the most significant driver of climate change. Start top down and see the trail we leave behind as the earth gets more crowded. Unfortunately I don't see overpopulation being curtailed so the spiral continues.
  7. Gas is but one part of the equation but just as significant may be our reliance on plastics. Look around, EVERYTHING is synthetic it seems. Who would have thought that one word from the movie The Graduate, could be so prescient. The best thing mankind can do for the environment is to quit reproducing so quickly.
  8. I think the photo has been debunked as not current but is most likely one from Alaska where someone took a potshot at the pipeline in 2001/2002. Regardless, this Red Deer leak does not bode well for the one they want to build to Prince Rupert. I don't understand the urgency to get the Northern Gateway pipeline built, other than to sell to overseas markets asap.
  9. Geez, you're getting scorched up there as well eh ? Those moths are quite beautiful with great colouring and they're HUGE ! So T.J., first it was Monique outfishing you and now it's her MOM ? Tell me you were net man today and not handling a rod What an awesome weekend nonetheless (I won't even mention those Fred Flintstone sized kabobs )
  10. Polysporin or Ozonol in small tubes. Scissors ( first aid type with blunt ends). Antihistamine (reactine etc).Small tubes of Crazy glue. For starters...
  11. The NFB has many great videos and who doesn't get all itchy watching this one ? By the time I get around to my vacation, the blackflies will probably be slow but the mosquitoes and deer flies will still be anticipating fresh meat Hope the G2G at Lakair is spared the biting hordes Blackfly
  12. oh yea, def kosher (flaky stuff). the celery seed is what I find too salty so will use minimal next time.
  13. BB, Looks like what I use on mine as well but I need to cut down on the celery seed (very salty). I also use mustard seeds but they need to be crushed to release their goodness Nothing beats dry rub
  14. make a silicone cast of your toe, put it on a slow death hook and hang on lol
  15. Those were some nice fatties there and nice to see I'm not the only to miss hook sets lol
  16. I have a couple of those big furry ones as well but found them very aerodynamically challenging to cast course, it's been a few years since I hauled line. I'm trying this for pike leaders cuz I'm not great at making leaders Can't remember if I got it at LeBarons or Wilson's Fly Fishing in Toronto. I think I posted this before but it's what got me amped to try and go after pike again. Hhink you'll like the way the pike hits the flies in this video Brian.

  19. can't wait to see the vid you put together from this setup ! just no crazy jump cuts ok
  20. Gotta say, this is yet another in a long line of great reports here on OFC ! Great pictures and I feel for you what with the rain, truck that wouldn't start, running out of gas etc.. Not to mention old bruin and his digging ! That beach looked really nice though (Lake Txxxx I presume), too bad the weather and fishing didn't co-operate. thanks for the enjoyable read Cliff
  21. Those are some beautiful nets that Chris makes, thanks for the link. I do believe I hear the siren song of the Boat Net calling to me...
  22. the piercings were just icing on the cake lol
  23. Sorry if this has been posted before. World Fishing Network has chosen Hastings, Ont. as the Ultimate Fishing Town. Port Colborne was runner up and Temagami was third. Congrats to the town of Hastings ! At least, there won't be hordes of people crowding Temagami this summer http://www.worldfishingnetwork.com/uft/winners.php
  24. so, so glad I wasn't having a drink when I read this... but yeah, aluminium prop as a sacrificial offering to the river gods.
