checking IP's this morning Roy ? Is he working or vacationing down there ? Australians are great people, very much like Canadians, but with accents. They love their beer with some backbone as well lol.

RIBS !!!! awesome report and glad you had time to write it up and get the photos loaded. Sounds like a place to head back to next spring/summer to see what was lurking in the depths, monster eyes ? btw, did you keep the nose ? I hear it's not bad. -

Speaking of that, I hope our friends up Wawa way get some relief from the heavy weather they're experiencing. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/wawa-under-state-of-emergency-after-heavy-rain-causes-flooding/article4709781/

My sincere condolences Paul. Losing the second parent can be one of the toughest things anyone will ever experience. You're going to see her in your dreams now and then and as someone told me, this is her way of checking up on you and to let you know that she's ok and not to worry. -

from the MNR page... "Question Re: Using Fish Roe for Bait Fishing with single fish eggs or roe bags is very effective at times during the fall salmon run. Can I use the eggs from fish that I catch as bait? Answer: Fish roe (eggs) is common bait especially for salmon and trout fishing. The using of roe is not restricted by any laws provided that there is no prohibition against using organic bait the area you are fishing (areas where artificial lure or artificial fly may only be sued). Fish roe may be legally stripped (taken) from fish that are legally caught provided that the fish itself is not discarded and wasted. You may also give fish roe to other anglers for their use but an angler may not sell, trade or barter fish or fish parts including the eggs. Only the holder of a commercial fish licence or an aquaculture licence may sell fish roe." If Kijiji seller has these papers, it's basically moot. I'm sure the CO will determine these facts and if illegal, they should put out a news release to let others know their days are numbered. -

Someone needs to figure out a way to make this carp, the next big thing in dining so it gets fished the hell out. Gov't should also be encouraging enterprising businesses to turn it into fertilizer. Gotta be a big market for that...

Thanks for the info. So now I wonder how much a new 34' Bayliner costs ? Also, was there a plug they forgot about on that boat ? I mean why else, barring insane waters, would a boat decide to visit Davey Jones' locker ? -just looked at the Bayliner site and the only thing in that length is a cruiser starting at...$153 742 (prolly USD). OUCH !

I'd imagine insurance will recover and examine why the boat sank and proceed from there re:coverage. Wonder how deep it is 3 miles off the Islands/Hearn/Ashbridges ?

Nice set. Hope you have a big freezer -
This is a great thread Gordy, thanks ! here are a couple of my favorite books. *The Land of Feast and Famine by Helge Ingstad. He spent four years up north and writes about the tail end of the fur trade. *A Walk Across America by Peter Jenkins. One of the few books I had a hard time putting down. Wonderful stories from all corners and puts the lie to preconceived notions of parts of America. A very touching book tbh. *What The River Says: Whitewater Journeys Along The Inner Frontier by Jeff Wallach. As much as I love lake country, the rapids and eddies of a fast flowing river put my mind in a different space. Another wonderful read for the winter. *Cache Lake Country: Life in the North Woods by John J. Rowlands. *Anything by Sigurd Olson. I'll have another look at my bookshelf later for other worthy reads.
