  1. Look at the yapper on that... and the fish looks pretty good to! Well done Cliff! HH
  2. As much as I respect your opinion Big Cliff, I have to disagree with you on this one. The woman was directly responsible for the deaths of two people, regardless of intent. How would you suggest that the family of the victims deal with this, should she get off with a slap on the wrist. She stopped dead in the fast lane of an express way. That's negligence and it led directly to the deaths of two people. The only excuse for that action would have to be a human was on the road in front of her. We do not hold the lives of animals equally to humans... yet. HH
  3. I think she got it down Brian! She's got Poppy hoping and she's catchin fish. Great pics and memories! thanks for posting. HH
  4. I'll admit that I am not a fan...but I was a huge fan during the summer Olympics watching the women play. Far more entertaining without all the broadway antics. Won't even touch the subject of game fixing... HH
  5. Well, I have a ten year old daughter who is exhibiting many of the characteristics of our main character here and when I showed this to a couple of women I know, they just about hurt themselves laughing. Yours truly, The Vagician
  6. LOL Bernie! I think I am going to have to take a course somewhere in order to figure all the doo dads on this thing! Moving from a "state of the art" 1996 vehicle to a 2011 has me scratchin my head with all these functions and buttons! The kids were crawling around in it last night like the circus had just come to town! Obviously we are still in the honeymoon phase, but so far, I likey! Now if I could just find that gosh darned camera... HH
  7. You're right, that is one of the funniest I have seen. I can't wait to show this to my wife when she gets home... my sides are aching! Thanks for sharing... HH
  8. LOL Bernie It's a girls "truck"... Front wheel drive! LOL Always get a hitch if I need to Will. Should be enough room for all the boys and their stuff in the winter though. I'll post a pic when I get it tomorrow. HH
  9. NO hitch Will... but given I don't have anything to hitch up to anyway, at this point it doesn't really matter. It does have the tranny cooler though.... HH
  10. Thanks again to all who responded... We bought a 2011 Flex yesterday. We will be picking it up on Thursday and are pretty excited. It'll be nice for me to have a radio, gas gauge, rear wiper, fuel economy, smoother ride... I could go on! Although my Jimmy has served us for the better part of 18 years, I have to admit that the last couple of years has been something of an adventure! As one become intimate over time with a vehicle, you start to get a feel for what is right what's wrong. Hoping to not have to "get that feeling" again, for some time to come. HH
  11. Well, I completely disagree with the above statement. I can most confidently say that should someone be caught poaching in the north and we hear about it, I can say without question that everyone here would applaud the MNR as well as any fines the guilty receive. Issues in the south get more attention simply because there are more of us here, than there. I would hazard a guess that most here would applaud ANY efforts to support our fisheries... HH
  12. I agree Grimsby... I was caught off guard by my kids last week. My 12 and 10 year olds came home from school saying that Hudak is bad and that I should vote for the Liberals. I asked them where they got that information and was told "by their teachers". Needless to say, I was and still am pretty ticked off by the whole thing. Scaring kids into thinking that Hudak is going to fire people (teachers) and that he is a bad man and will do bad things has really got my knickers in a knot! Not sure how to deal with this though, as I have to tread carefully, with my wife being a school administrator. HH
  13. I hear Auntie Katy is going to shut down all the back/spine clinics in the province for fear that some Ontarians might actually grow a spine before the next election. HH
  14. Nice job boys! Those cheeks look tasty! LOL Well done lads! HH
  15. I wonder if the MNR also checked out their freezers at home? HH
  16. Thanks again folks... The Escape is far too small for my needs. Heck, my Jimmy is too small some of the time, especially if we are on a trip for a few days. HH
  17. Andrea was in a no win situation. Had she continued to prop up the Lieberals, she would have been seen as being their back pocket. She had already been doing that for a number of years. She had no choice as leader of a her party, but to stop what she was doing and try to, or at least give the impression of, standing on her own. HH
  18. Given the province's economic situation, I expect that the new/old government will be forced to begin the same type of cuts that the PC's were contemplating. It will be highly entertaining to watch as those who felt the PC's were going to rape the province's services are going to start to squirm very soon! The election is over. They can and will do what they want with this majority... and they will because we the people have shown them that they can do what ever the h e double hockey sticks they want and they will still get elected. So the question remains... what do politicians in the province need to do in order to not be re-elected? Obviously wasted funds won't do it. corruption won't do it. Heck, maybe we get lucky and Auntie Kate decides to take up crack! HH
  19. As most of us know, Lake Nip is a very complicated situation. At this point, there is no way of telling who owned the net or why it was left out in the lake. Assumptions are far easier then facts. It has been mentioned here, to anyone with an open enough mind, willing to listen, that NFN are NOT the only ones netting the lake. Illegal harvest has been going on for years and will likely continue to, until enforcement becomes more than just lip service. I have seen a willingness among some to discuss this situation openly and with the best interest of the lake in mind. I would hate see frustration with this situation and the others that are to follow, result in more name calling. I'm pretty sure folks on both sides of this are disgusted by what they are seeing. HH
  20. Thanks again for all you input... no eco boost... got it! HH
  21. Thanks Porkpie... these vehicles are pretty darned dear brand new, up in the $40-$45K range!!!! That just not in the cards right now. Typically, we put the lions share of KM's on our car, Nissan Altima. My wife uses it daily and it's pretty good on fuel. I use the truck for simple things like groceries, dentist trips etc. In the 15 years we had the Jimmy, we only put 145k on it! I do need a vehicle that can carry gear as my other "hobby" is playing in a gigging band. I need a vehicle that will move my cabinets, amp heads and other gear plus be capable of moving people for things like soccer, hockey etc. I am only looking at used since I don't need a daily driver for a commute, I work from home. As you can see, I tend to keep vehicles for some time and put very little mileage on them. Thanks for looking all! HH
  22. Exactly what I have been saying for a few years now Joey! Just back from doing the deed now... polling station is pretty slow. HH
  23. Thanks guys!!!!! I asked my mechanic if he had any info. One of the guys that works at his shop, used to work at a Ford dealership. He said that in the first couple of years that the vehicle was available, they had tranny problems. After that, he knew of no issues. Again, thanks for taking the time folks! HH
  24. Hey folks, Well, it seems that it's getting close to the time that I have to retire my 96 Jimmy. As one would expect, things are starting to go on it and it has become something of a less then reliable vehicle. I need a people mover/ soccer mom type vehicle. I have two kids, 12 and 10, both well over 5ft tall and frankly, I expect them to reach 6 ft easily. I also have a 90lb Lab that likes to travel and all the junk that goes with kids and dogs. My wife and I like the idea of the Ford Flex. Plenty of room inside, fold down back row seats for carrying stuff and just different enough to make it more interesting than a mini-van. So, I am hoping that someone on the board can speak to their experience/knowledge regarding reliability etc... Sure do appreciate your time and help. I am looking strictly on the used market as I have no interest in buying new. Also, if you have other suggestions I'm all ears! Thanks for your time! HH
