  1. A new little face to stare up at Gramps, asking, please take me fishing! Doesn't get much better! Congrats to all! HH
  2. What Rico said and I'll add, bring some penicillan! HH
  3. I have a long standing fear of triangles, so for me, I'd have to say no. Joking aside, what Misfish said seems to me to be the first question I would be asking myself. It aint all about you any more. HH
  4. Possible solution... never go fishing without taking Uncle Buck with you! That way, when your pulling the boat out of the water, you cou ask him nicely to lay across the hood of the Jetta, to hold the front wheels down! (I only used UB as an example as he's the largest OFNer I've seen) I'd be pretty darn sure I'm covered by insurance, before it left my driveway! HH
  5. Really great report bud! No wonder it took you this long! LOL Lemon drops are "pallete cleaners" ! I was introduced to them a few years back and have been introducing them to OFC'ers since. Pretty simple, but very tasty: - Vodka... in the freezer -cut a lemon into wedges -roll lemon wedge in sugar -shoot the vodka and bite into the lemon... and there you go! I highly recommend them for situations where you don't have a lot of space for things like BEER! Effective and well, rather tasty! HH
  6. TC10Z... you caught an Atlantic! Congrats! Does anyone know if $Rama sells marshmellows?! HH
  7. Oh my... it's finally happened, I find myself agreeing with GDC! Next thing yah know, dogs and cats will be living together in harmony, world peace is just around the corner and the Stay Puffed Marshmellow Man is knocking at my door! On topic, as mentioned, it will probably pull it, but I'd be puckered in the lower unit should I have to stop it quickly! I guess it all really comes down to how much risk your willing to take on. Myself, no fish is worth the lives of my family or friends or heck, the other people on the road. You'll do the right thing, you just need some encouragement! HH
  8. I typically don't have time to watch fishin shows, but if I do, I'll watch Dave. He makes me laugh, he doesn't hide anything and he gets backlashes just like everyone else! Now, admittedly, I'm a SWAG junkie, so when Dave gave Joey a bunch of Tee-shirts for our Quinte GTG, a couple of years ago, he immediately jumped to the front of the line in my mind. Yah, I'm easily bought! LOL But it shows you the character of the guy. He has not forgotten the grass roots nature of our sport and I commend him for that. Keep up the good work Dave! And more importantly, keep smilin! HH
  9. I have two Okuma Convector reels that I regret buying every time I use them. The ati-reverse disengages on it's own, won't engage when I flip the switch and have disengaged while fighting a fish! For another $25, I could have bought another Diawa Sealine, but I guess lesson learned. HH
  10. I don't think there is a black or white asnwer to this question. As noted above, many musky anglers catch big Pickereyes trolling at fairly high speed. Also, some folks simply won't go above 2 mph trolling for eyes and they still catch fish. Faster speeds will catch agressive fish. If your fishing a large area, speed will help you cover more water and in turn, put you bait in front of more fish. The agressive ones will hit. I think Roy nailed it as far as speed is concerned. Turning and alternating your speed will help you dial in the speed that is working that day. Just pay attention! There is a myth that cold water Pickereyes won't chase a fat moving bait... that has not been my experience. As a top of the food chain preditor, they will eat whatever is deemed to be an easy meal. I think the real trick is to find active fish. HH
  11. How the H.E double hockey sticks are supposed to get the eyes out if you don't use yer fingers!? Perch bait people, Perch bait! HH Ps... does anyone know if "Trolls" are good bait.... I'm pretty sure I know how to fish them!
  12. Not really the praying type, but I will without a doubt, make an exception today... my thoughts to you and your family. HH
  13. Had a guy come to the door last week, wanted to help me save money on my hydro and gas bills. I told him that unless he was selling fraud insurance , to get off my property before I took the hose to him. He started to ask me questions about my gas bill and hydro bill and had the balls to ask if he could have a look at my bill... that's when I started to unravel the garden hose... he got the idea!LOL HH
  14. Unfortunately C.O.'s are just like so many other "law enforcement" people, they are tax collectors for the government. Your buddy simply got a $180.00 tax for fishing. If they weren't tax collectors, they would have other means of dealing with offenders. They could take away his fishing privilges, take his equipment etc... but instead, they fine him. Tax collection through and through. HH
  15. Check out the beach at Providence Bay... nicest beach in the province as far as I'm concerned. HH
  16. How did it taste? Like a musky, bow or chinny? LOL HH
  17. Wayne and family, you have my heart felt sympathys. Wayne, I'm only a 10 minute drive to Ajax. Should you need a place to sit, clear your head or rest your head, please let me know. I have room for you and would be honored to have you stay. I'll PM my particulars. HH
  18. Welcome to the forum... get ready to open up yer wallet, fishing can be that way! HH
  19. http://foodnetworkhumor.com/2009/04/a-whol...in-a-can-yummo/ Looks like it just escaped from the Matrix! HH
  20. Raf, no arguments from me re the Believer, I have a smaller one, but have you ever fished a Stretch 30? Nasty hard pull for sure. At 11 inches in length and a bill that's almost half the size of the lure, she digs pretty good!LOL HH
  21. BERNIE for PRIME MINISTER!!!!!!!! Actually, I like Bernie far too much to wish that on him! HH
  22. I think the Offshores with the upgraded locking clip would work for most of the baits you will be pulling. As mentioned in my earlier post, musky is typically not my thing... but having said that, I can recall times where Pickereye fishing I have dragged a 2 pounder around for god only knows how long, with very little apparent affect to the off shores. I don't have large musky lure experience, but I have dragged a Manns Stretch 30 behind Offshores with no ill affect at all (except my arm reeling the darn thing in) I think you will do just fine with Offshores. For your specific applications, clear water, I think boards would be ideal. You can match your depth and get those baits away from the boat. Let us know how you make out!? HH
  23. My condolances to all the family's and friends. HH
  24. I was sent that yesterday and LOL'd! I just hope that United finds the humour in it and doesn't decide to sue him! They have many more lawyers than a funny guy from Timmins! And a Taylor guitar, is a terrible thing to waste! HH
