  1. Lex, the smoke only bothers you for the first couple of days, after that, you are pretty much accustomed to it! Let us know if you change your mind, you are welcome. HH
  2. For those who may have missed it in the sticky above, we have open space in a cottage for someone to join us... at Perfect Vue. HH
  3. Gerritt, life gets in the way of our plans, take care of your family, Mike and I will survive... although we may not want to! LOL SPot in the cottage is still open.... let me know! HH PS... violent chats while sleeping are highly encouraged.
  4. *****UPDATE***** We have unfortunately had a cancellation with one of our crew (Gerritt) having to cancel due to a personal matter. Bitsmith and I are now looking for one person for our cottage. Unfortunately, we will not have room in the boat for this person, but we are in a position to offer a place to crash, at Perfect Vue. (Should you have a boat and are looking for two to join you, that could work as we are now going to be using Bitsmiths boat, which will only accomodate 2 people.) We expect to be arriving on Friday, still working out details as to our arrival time. We have the cottage until Sunday. We are looking for someone to share expenses and of course, the odd beverage. Pm me for more details... HH
  5. Well, this is going to be the strangest "GTG" I've been involved with! As we have found a way to GTG, well, sort of! Let's see, we have folks staying at Perfect View, Merlands, the Sportsman in Picton, Deseronto and well probably some other places that I'm not even aware of... should we really call it a GTG or should we call it a semi-gathering? HH
  6. Well, if we have 60k winds for the GTG next week, I'll be heading for the local liquor store, cause we aint going out in that in Gerritt's boat... of course you can always find a place to fish, regardless of the wind, it just doesn't seem to me anyway to be that much fun. HH
  7. Nice! But I must say, that Pickereye makes yer head look small! LMAO 60K winds on Quinte are well shall we say NASTY! Good on you and Lloyd for toughin it out. HH
  8. i live in Scarborough, with one of Highland Creek's feeders running through my back yard. We are on a ravine lot. I have seen numerous or the same fox countless times this year. I've seen him criss crossing my neighbours backyard, nose to the ground, looking for mice and moles. Heck, just this past summer, I was sitting in my front yard, having a smoke and a fox almost ran over my feet while is was quietly enjoying my smoke... I yelled at it and it just looked at me and kept walking. I figure they are keeping the mice population down so they are a good thing. Don't think I would take to kindly to coyotes and the like. HH
  9. Gus's was good the last time I went there, just be sure to STAY AWAY from that "Family Restaurant" next to or near McDonalds... can you say cook, re-heat and repeat! Oh and by the way Lloyd, drunks are people to, ya know! LMAO HH
  10. It would be cool to over run a local restaurant with OFC'ers, but speaking from experience at these GTG's, my guess would be that some of the folks coming, may be too drive to drunk. Better left at the cottage! HH
  11. Homey... just copy the Offshore boards I dropped off to you last year! HH
  12. Just tell Dano it's time... he'll get up! HH
  13. http://www.reefrunner.com/html/crankbait.html You can get it to 45 ft by; -lead core -dipsey -snap weight HH
  14. Ok... I was looking for a name and a number and I got it quickly, thanks again Scugog! I did call him re a Lowrance Ice machine a buddy is considering buying for this up coming ice season. His price was very competitive from what we have been able to research. While I had him on the phone, I asked him about upgrading my old portable Garmin and he gave me some great advice on how to get where I want to be, without spending a ton of dough... so at this point anyway, once his stock comes in, I'll be talking to him again. Seems I to am starting to line up at the door of angling specialties! HH
  15. Nice! 45 feet is defintely pushing it, but if you bring them in slow, it is doable. Thanks for the report, less than 2 weeks to go! HH
  16. Thanks Scugog! HH
  17. Hey guys, Hoping someone can remember the name of the shop in Woodstock that sell Lowrance and such electronics. Thanks, HH
  18. My 7 year old son was sent home from school on October 16th. On October 18th, we took him to the hospital as he seemed to be "crashing". The doctor who saw him said the following:" I think it's swine flue as his symptoms are exactly like the one's I had, when I had it". He was prescribed meds and we kept him home for a week. He's fine now, full of piss and vinegar... my daughter is fine, but I have been fighting what appears to be a cold for 10 days. I heart goes out to the families of those who have been taken by this flu, but injecting myself or my kids is not something I have very much interest in doing, I have significant concerns. And as my son has had it, he has developed anti-bodies on his own, so I'm not concerned for him. My daughter we will keep a close eye on... This really is a tough one. HH
  19. Thanks for the report... Dr. Nancy eh... ROTFLMAO! HH
  20. Bernie... Terry doesn't need any help to take shots at my fishing abilities! LMAO HH
  21. Now that's funny! HH
  22. I bet I can guess Terry! HH
  23. Nice work guys! Uhmm.... what did Terry catch? HH
  24. Congrats!!!!! HH
  25. Old Butch John was in the fertilized egg business. He had several hundred young layers (hens), called 'pullets,' and ten roosters to fertilize the eggs. He kept records, and any rooster not performing went into the soup pot and was replaced. This took a lot of time, so he bought some tiny bells and attached them to his roosters. Each bell had a different tone, so he could tell from a distance, which rooster was performing. Now, he could sit on the porch And fill out an efficiency report by just listening to the bells. John's favourite rooster, old Butch, was a very fine specimen, but this morning he noticed old Butch's bell hadn't rung at all! When he went to investigate, he saw the other roosters were busy chasing pullets, bells-a-ringing, but the pullets, hearing the roosters coming, could run for cover. To John's amazement, old Butch had his bell in his beak, so it couldn't ring. He'd sneak up on a pullet, do his job and walk on to the next one. John was so proud of old Butch, he entered him in the Renfrew County Fair and he became an overnight sensation among the judges. The result was the judges not only awarded old Butch the No Bell Piece Prize but they also awarded him the Pulletsurprise as well. Clearly old Butch was a politician in the making. Who else but a politician could figure out how to win two of the most highly coveted awards on our planet by being the best at sneaking up on the populace and screwing them when they weren't paying attention. Vote carefully next time, the bells are not always audible. HH
