Some suggestions for you: - provide members here with advice or simply post fish porn... we like that! We don't like folks promoting their wares, what ever they are , unless and until, you have provided value to the community -buy an ad! If you have an ad/banner here, we will not consider you as spam... the mods are easily bought! ...and rightly so! -speaking of easliy bought, how about offering the community some swag.... the members here are easily bought as well! Nice of Carol to let you hold her fish! HH -
That's a great idea TJ, just one other thought. Is there any way we could open a bank account, which would allow us to just make a deposit. We could post the account number, transit number and bank number and folks could easily stop off at a branch, local to them and make a donation. I don't want to make this any more complicated than it is, but thought this may be another way to get some money to the kids. HH

Tiger Woods can drive a golf ball farther than 300yds! HH -
Funny you say that Dog! Cliff was muttering about "at least catching a pike" after a few hours of non action! The Bernie wonder jigs were all tied up and the bait was in the boat... we just didn't want to chase small pickereyes when we could easily see trophy fish on the graph... plus, Cliff didn't think we could catch a pike on a jig! That darned Cliff! HH Yelling in my best Ozzy voice... Carol! Carol!

DouG... it would have been a tough bite, had we had even one!!!!!LOL Terry... no sheapies were harmed in this report, so I don't think you can use this post for your own ill gotten gains! That Darn Cliff! Still Lmao! HH Carol! Carol!

Roy, I'm looking at it this way, last time out I got fish and so did FishnSled, the only variable I could come up with, would be the Cliff factor... and believe me, he heard about it on the boat yesterday! LMAO All kidding aside, we shared some laughs, got out of this blasted city and did our best to try and find a fish or two... but it was not meant to be... Darn Cliff! LMAO HH gonna have to pm Carol!

Out the door at 4:30 am, rods, tackle, clothing, food, beverages everything ready the night before (Saturday night) Arrive at FishnSled's house 5 minutes early and start loading the truck and boat. Two minutes later, Cliff arrives and we are on the road to Quinte by 5:15am. On the water and lines down by 7:30am, Hay Bay is our target. We are running baits high, mid and deep, seeing plenty of great marks on the finder.... A little background for yah.... Two weeks ago, in the same place, with the same baits and the same marks on our graph, Bitsmith and I took 5 Pickereyes in one day with one fish breaking into the double digit group. Last week, FishnSled out for the day managed to boat two Pickereyes, both over twelve pounds.... So yesterday, we had high expectations... until about half way through the day, no bites, no nibbles, no lost fish, nadda, nothing! So, in doing a post mortum on the day, I have no other position to take on this other than to say, it's that damn Cliff! We should have brought Carol! HH

Having previously negotiated benefits or wages, does not automatically entitle you to those same benefits/wages, at contract renewal time... that is why they call it contract renewal! To my mind, unions are another way of spelling entitlement. During my college years, I was a summer student working at Ford, and a paying non member of the CAW (summer students could not become union members, but had to pay dues) I can't tell you how many times I was told to slow down because "when you go back to school, they're gonna expect me to do as much work as you and well, I'm just not prepared to do that". These are also the first guys to be ready to walk off the job or strike. In my world, everyone should be on commission... where you are paid for your accomplishments. In the last ten years of my recollection, I have been in Walmart twice... once to buy jigs, another to buy an egg Mcmuffin. HH

Big Al is coming to Toronto and you can attend this event, learn more about how we are ruining the planet, for a mere $500.00 per head! I wonder if Al has any mirrors in his house? HH

Mine was a stand alone, vented much like a wood burning stove. It got so hot, that at times, it was almost unbareable. Mind you, the unit was pretty much over kill, based on the space it was used to heat, but with the thermostat in the remote, it worked very well, as long as you found the right place in the room, to put the remote, for maximum efficiency. (man I wish I could spell!) The other up side of this unit is that should the power go out, the unit still worked. It was not plugged into the wall, but ran off of a battery pack tied into the unit. I changed batteries anually. We found that the unit actually heated up most of the house, with the hot air rising and fully heating the main floor of the house as well. Can't say for sure if the unit helped save money, but the basement was warm and dry. HH

Jughead... I had a similar situation when I lived down town... 80+ year old house with Rad heat. Found out that installing an additional rad for the basement was not a feasible alternative as the system will in all likelyhood not supply the basement rad with enough pressure to actually provide a useable amount of heat. I ended up buying a Napoleon gas heater for the basement. Great unit and it pounded out tons of heat. Comes with a remote that works on either a timer basis or a thermostat built into the remote. I'd highly recommend that unit. Just be sure that you have easy access to an outside wall for proper ventilation. HH

So sad and so young... my heart felt sympathies to his family and friends. HH

Soo how are the leafs doing theses days?????
Headhunter replied to muskymatt's topic in General Discussion
Well, I'm still waiting for the city to come by and clean up the road in front of my house as it appears as though every leaf in the city is lying on the road, out in front of my house... I thought I saw Blake tucked in under the curb. HH -
Creation of more Conservation Officers.

I agree 100% Wayne! To my mind, in many cases, C.O's have a much more dangerous job than a police officer... out in the middle of now where, looking for hunters, WHO ARE OBVIOUSLY ARMED to ensure that our resources are properly managed. Johnny, you need to live in their shoes for a while, before you can make a comment like that. To my mind, they are GROSSLY under paid! HH -
Well, there's two dozen sitting in the fridge in cottage number three at Perfect Vue... if anyone wants them... might be some potatoe salad in there to! HH

I don't think so Phil... based a 250 day work year, in order to "pay" for themselves. they would have to write approx. $700.00 worth of fines per working day. They may reach that on a weekend, especially in the winter where anglers are pretty much bunched up in a few places, but even then, it's very rare to see one C.O.. I've seen them mostly in pairs, which puts their team into the $350,000.00 per anum range. Plus, based on fines levied on site and by the courts, it seems to me that there just isn't enough money moving to cover their costs. HH -
Ok... now I see yah! HH
