  1. Warm welcome Dan and a Happy New Year..
  2. So sorry to hear about the loss of your Mom Tom.
  3. You bin talkin' to someone?
  4. We used to fly in 500 lbs of canners every year and split them with the rest of the street. It was pretty reasonable just packed in seaweed, no ice. They were as lively as if they just came out of the water. Tasted great but you needed about a dozen each....... I still think that 2 - 2 1/2 pounders taste the best.
  5. Hey Roy, wanna buy me a couple of dozen and put them on the next flight west? Great deal my friend. Even though the lobster market is tough right now they still bring $7.99+ a pound here for markets.
  6. Great video TJ.... I was fortunate to get a rye bottle full of the dark (much better than premium grade) nectar at Lakair a few years ago. I was very protective of it and it lasted me the best part of the rest of that year. Thank him for me!
  7. Have a great one Dave...
  8. Turducken.............. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turducken
  9. I consider myself very blessed to have a wonderful wife, great children and terrific grandchildren. In general, we are all in pretty good health. Like many others, we have lost large sums of money in both the North American stock markets and the Canadian and UK real estate markets. However, there is not much that worrying about it can do for me. I am picking myself up and brushing off the dust and will recover as best as I can. Sometimes we need to reflect on what we have rather than what we do not......
  10. Bush considering controlled bankruptcy for auto makers... http://finance.sympatico.msn.ca/investing/...mentid=16064080
  11. Don't see too many this time of year Leechman, however in the summer they take over my yard.
  12. Love the quality dry aged prime rib, however I am saving it for new year. Nothing like a large (very large) juicy turkey. The best bit is the turkey sandwiches with stuffing and cranberry, the turkey curry with basmati rice, the turkey soup........you get the idea. Nice taste in red wine by the way!
  13. Didn't do well at all myself. Maybe had something to do with the fact that I spent way too much time working and not near enough time on the water. The highlight of the year was taking my grandson Brent up to Lakair for his first ever fishing experience. He is now "hooked" and can't wait for next year....
  14. So sorry to hear of your loss Brian. Your tribute is truly heartfelt. John...
  15. That's one of those new beaver mullets...
  16. Welcome Pappylachia, hope you like it here and stay a while.
  17. TuTu, that man needs a fourfour.........
  18. Thanks for the update Rick. As you say, there is a big GOOD NEWS and not so bad bad news. No thanks are necessary bud, just be well and get your butt up to Lakair in June. John...
  19. What's a few zero's between friend's Connie...........
  20. I experience free markets every day of the week. Although it is tough, we find new ways to stay in business. Thinking outside the box is a much overused terminology these days, BUT, it has enabled us to stay in the game when our much large competition has "taken their toys" and gone home! We have dramatically changed the way in which we do business. We have customers that our competition don't want to do business with, we manage them differently. We have areas where we do business where we have had to address new and different, (read cheaper and more efficient), ways to get our product to their market. We are supplying products that 10 perhaps even 5 years ago, we wouldn't have even dreamed of tackling. We have 1/3 of the employees that our competition had, before they pulled out.
  21. Dang that was good!
  22. Thanks so much Ron, a great read!
  23. Thanks one more time Drew. The narrative in your reports is amazing and your photography, is in my opinion, world class. John
