  1. When limeyangler came up here fishing with me we stopped for a shore lunch and while the food was on he casted from shore. Withing a few minutes he had hooked a rod of my sons that was lost months back! And it was a spot I drag jigs at all the time, go figure. The pic was posted on here two yeas ago. Reel was junk but the rod is still working just fine. Thanks again Simon! Sorry to hear rizzo, that just plain sucks
  2. I agree with mike. Another one I'd add is a Texas rigged chigger craw, frigging pike just love those, seriousy

  4. Wow looks like a 47"!!! J/k. Great catch, I like the hold too, made for a great pic!
  5. All these suggestions work. One thing ill add is you can tie braid directly to a spill by just tying a simple overhand knot, then wrap the line two or three times around the spool, then tie a second overhand knot.
  6. In my experiences most people that embellish their catches aren't serious anglers or they don't get out that often. It takes some serious ignorance to approach any angler that has alot of experience with certain fish, and try to story tell. Truth be told though it doesn't really bother me, if their hyped on there catch or imaginary story well good for them! I encounter this alot in my area, no so much with bass but walleye and... Sturgeon.
  7. If its your property pee away.
  8. True story, a couple of years ago i asked a local elder if i could borrow his riding lawn mower. He said sure, just fill it up with gas and now my lawn too in about a week because im heading to Portland so the next day i go get the mower and proceed to mow my large ass lawn. About half way through the cops show up accusing me of break and enter and theft under 5000. I told him i had permission and whatnot, even told him who would steal a lawn mower then use it a block away? Haha. He agreed. Then he talked to me for a good 45 mins about the differences between his mower and the one i borrowed. I even excused myself briefly to grab a beer during that time. After i finished the beer i turned and peed on a tree near the side of our house mid conversation. He just kept on talking about mowers. Then he left. I laughed. True story
  9. They are unreal easy to catch just flipping rocks and bare handing them. One thing me and my kids found out one evening was to look on cement boat launches at night, holy s*** they just pile on each other! Thousands and each landing we Checked. Also, if a good one scurries under a big rock, it will come out for a small pice of hot dog, lol
  10. Sweet fish mike! Way to go! Some gorgeous colora on a few of those fish!!!
  11. This thread is hilarious! Thanks!!!!
  12. Tourny worms lol natural color with red fleck
  13. Yep, the black silver are yum, the more natural color are mayzuo purny worms
  14. Oh and I strongly prefer northland tackle shakey head jigs
  15. I like using your typical cigar style worms in black/silver or a natural colour. I like to trim off an inch or so making it around 4" for bass or about 3.5" for walleye. For bass ill use this technique around deadheads or on/around reefs, 12-25 fow. Usually use 8lb fluoro on a 6'6 or 6'8 med rod with a spinning reel. Get my bait to where i want it, hold the rod tip at 11 o'clock and just gently shake the rod tip, stop, repeat and then occasionally pop it up a good foot or so. Walleye is about the same but only right at pre spawn or fall
  16. I go through phases lol. More often than not im using no leader, and very rarely have issues. And there is some real toothy monsters in my home waters. Im typically fishing 15-20 lb suffix 832 or pp. when the bite is on i dont care about colour either. With that being said, if im not getting bit i go to a leader of about 16-18". Nothing heavy or fancy, just 8-10lb fluoro tied to a good barrel swivel. At times it does make a difference in my experiences
  17. Great gesture! Hit me up a lil more info and in the next two weeks i can donate some line.
  18. There late this year up my way. Ill take the massive hatches of mayflies any day over a massive hatch of army worms
  19. Awesome pics and great first experience! Almost seems odd to me cause in nw ontario eagles are everywhere! Beautiful birds though, thats for sure!!!
  20. IMO leafs should def try to sign bozack for 5. A big name would be nice too but im not convinced its needed. Last year was a great year and showed a ton of promise. If the leafs need to improve anywhere my focus would be the defense
  21. got two spots to check that go from 12 ft off shore right to 80 fow. Im hopefully lol
  22. Stoked for ya chad!!!! Im currently searching myself to build next year, on a lake with trophy lakers, musky, pike, walleye and tons of panfish! Getting all our maps this week and scouting next week. Even the thought of scouting land has me more than amped!!!
  23. No doubt Roy. Another bad scenario I've encountered is having a well planned family/friend camping trip, only to have a guest bring enough food for a day or two, but enough booze to warrant an extra boat trip. Grrrrr....
  24. "I've got no problem paying for gas and minnows, but ill have to pay you back later, i forgot my wallet". 2 hours into the road trip.
