  1. Gilford is in innisfil as well so the same permit is needed. Stupid new bylaw, you need to apply for a permit to have large family reunion or corn roast on your own property.
  2. I really like the unit have had it a couple of years and cooked 3 or 4 chickens at a time in it, ribs a big roast is fantastic. The only problem with the thing is my cousin keeps borrowing it.
  3. I recommend the big easy oil less turkey fryer. Works great and save on the cost and hassle of the oil. http://www.charbroil.com/the-big-easy-tru-infrared/the-big-easy-tru-infrared-oil-less-turkey-fryer-12101480.html
  4. I think I am going to try the sinker dropper, has anyone used these before? http://www.sinker-dropper.com/
  5. A real crackhead would trade his gun for crack. Don't be so stupid. Anybody in this country that claims there gun is to protect there family from crackheads is too crazy to own one. Period

  7. what the hell are you talking about? I have been ice fishing 40 years and never heard of one fireman or cop death responding to a ice rescue. Hoppy
  8. The boy who cried wolf thing is very true. I live here on the west side of Simcoe and according to the multiple police forces and therefore the local media there is never safe ice. On the local tv station OPP, South Simcoe and Barrie officers push the idea there is no such thing as safe ice. I have never heard a positive ice report from the authorities in the forty years I've been ice fishing here. Sure you hear "lots of good ice from hut operator's" or the OFSC trail across the lake from them which is a good sign. But even they say the only safe option on the lake is on they marked trail. The most positive the media center ever gets is to check with the local hut operators when pressured by the same, this issue drives them nuts too. So if you don't go when there are warnings then you don't fish!
  9. I don't know because it's free for us local yokels.
  10. I just got copies of the shows myself a month or two ago from mason place fireplaces and woodstoves. Red use to do adds for them. My grandfather was a drinking buddy with red so the show always meant a lot to me so I was thrilled to find copies of his shows. Hope this helps Hoppy
  11. https://northtoronto...st.php?event=54 This is where I get my fishing machines because I'm cheap / broke. I even bought one online while participating in the fishing for Tyler derby a couple of winters ago.
  12. Snow out west the ice is coming.

  13. Now here is a subject that cheers me up. Bring on the ICE.

  15. I worry about this. To me it's like the boy who cried wolf story. The man doesn't want us on the ice at all. Why would we heed the unsafe ice warnings when they are constant. If something goes wrong on the ice they can always blame the anglers because there are constant unsafe ice warnings. I have seen barrie police officers on local tv (ctv barrie) tell us there is no such thing as safe ice and no one should ever ice fish. Ice conditions reporting is spotty and inaccurate therefore should not be the benchmark that these anglers are judged by.
  16. While ice fishing last year buddy told me he was going to vote for the decepticons so they can scrap the long gun registry.
  17. I have lost my whole fishing season and I'm heartbroken but what about the other costs. The problems for the maple syrup industry was already mentioned in another thread. Now I have seen on the news there is a huge algae bloom in Lake Erie because it didn't freeze. I know a lot of you want to get on with the open water fishing, but there has to be more issues with this none winter. What do you think? Hoppy
  18. look at a Nudura ICF build you won't regret it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=gu9SkhypFnY
  19. I just saw this on the barrie news, so upsetting. So sorry for everyone involved.
  20. skype is awesome.
  21. my question is why salt them at all? this was done back in the day so they wouldn't rot without freezing them. do fish like the salt or something? i just freeze mine for chumming salt free.
