  1. Could you please provide details as to where you shipped it. I have a couple of Chronarchs making noise.
  2. I would suspect that these were Sandhill Cranes. There are only about 400 Whooping cranes left in the world and most of them are in the midwest. Currently there are not reported sightings of Whooping Cranes in Ontario. I had 2 Sandhill Cranes fly over my boat last Saturday while fishing the Pickeral River, it's the first time I have seen them there.
  3. I have a cottage on Wilson Lake which is on the system. The fishing this year has been the best since we purchased the place in 2010, maybe getting to know the water better. Lots of smallmouth, walleye fishing has been OK and plenty of northerns in the 4 to 7 pound range. There are trout in Wilson and Duck Lakes but haven't gone after any as yet, I typically target them through the ice. I have never stayed at Pine Grove but it looks nice. There is a lot of boat traffic that passes it so it will be exposed to wake, although that time in Sept it should be minimal. Another place to consider would be Wright Point Resort: http://www.wrightpointresort.com Nice resort, good people. You're still close to Toad Lake and have Wilson/Duck/Pigeon that you can fish. We have had water issues this year with a hole in the bottom of the outlet dam and the level is 15 inches below normal. No problem with navigating the river or the lakes just be a little more careful close to shore. After getting no help from the MNR, a few locals went up and fixed the dam, here's the story from the Nugget: http://www.nugget.ca/2012/07/31/frustrated-locals-fix-dam PM me if you have any questions
  4. Personally I really enjoy trolling for lakers on a flat calm day. Not enough excitement for my son so I don't do it as much anymore. Thanks for sharing.
  5. Why do you have to travel so fast, the answer is simple, because you can. A car is no different. For the most part, it's not the machine that is the issue, it's the operator. Whether it be a bass boat, jet ski, ATV, large cruising boat, etc. The list goes on and on about machines that for some reason or another people have issues. Unfortunately you don't have to pass an I.Q. test or an etiquette test to buy any of them. From the video I would say the operator of this Ranger is a good one. He made sure he had a clear lane before taking off, he is made sure his passenger was set, he is wearing a PFD and he has on hearing protection. From my experience, it doesn't matter what kind of boat it is, an "idiot" behind the wheel is still an "idiot".
  6. Sounds like you got a lemon there. I'll take it off your hands for $50. And there is no need to thank me.
  7. Yep, you now have to exit the highway to get to Danny's Justa Pasta.
  8. This guy takes lip synching to a new level.
  9. It says you can buy a max of 5. Why not purchase 4 and that 1 hour of fishing just turned into 4 hours of fishing.
  10. On my cottage commute I have a wife, 2 kids, 2 cats and a dog along for the ride. One of the passengers can run the app.
  11. Cupping can also be a result of weak of poor suspension. Some people use their boat to carry stuff away which overloads the trailer creating the same condition as a weak suspension, which will lead to cupping. Best solution is to check your trailer springs, you might have to add a leaf or two and don't load the boat full of stuff when trailering. If your plan is to use the cupped tires this season make sure you have a spare, a bottle jack and lug wrench that fits the trailer wheel nuts, you're likely to need them. Really important for the lug wrench as your trailer wheel nuts may not be the same size as the vehicle wheel nuts so your vehicle wrench will be useless.
  12. If you go the bag route get a blue IKEA bag.
  13. The first thing I would do if I were you is change my handle, sounds like you are no longer RangerGuy. After that I would contact Yamaha to confirm what you have been told. Then I would then find out if Honda, Merc, Evinrude can do it faster and see what Yamaha is willing to do in order to keep a customer. Get the dealer to do the same. The dealer should be working on your behalf, a good dealer would have already done this.
  14. Wasn't this the first line in Deliverance?
  15. I have a cottage just down the river on Wilson Lake. We had dinner at Old Mirror Lodge twice last summer and it was fantastic. They have an outdoor patio and you get to watch the sunset over the water. Food was great and the people seemed very nice.
  16. HGTV does the same for Holmes on Homes
  17. Sad to see him gone. Saw in the paper last week that he was in the final stages of his battle. Never saw him with The Band but did take in a number of club appearances in Toronto he did a number of years back with Rick Danko. And now they're both gone.
  18. This is only advisable if the motor is bolted to the transom.
  19. I didn't think these motors had the fin. I know the original design had a shear pin prop and an exhaust port in place of the fin. OMC then changed it to a thru-hub exhaust but I am not sure they put in the fin in place of the exhaust port. I have 30 Evinrude on my pontoon boat at the cottage and I will check when I open it up. Justin, failing the fin look for the steering tension adjuster which should be located close to the pivot shaft that the steering is anchored to. It will be slotted head, 7/16 bolt threaded through a spring. It must be too loose, adjust the tension until you're happy.
  20. That's the only name I remember it by.
  21. Yes, it is on the Hays family homestead which was a working farm when I lived in the area (born and raised in Oakville). The pond had a couple of golf holes on it as well.

  23. Well after discussions in my beer league dressing room last night and reading this morning that Burke's loyalty to Wilson is getting in the way I am starting to think that they both have to go.
  24. Methinks Wilson will be taking a different plane when the team leaves Chicago tonight. It's easier to fire on the road. The year Nolan took over the hapless NYI, they made the playoffs, and that was after the lock out.
