  1. Some fine looking walleye Simon. Would have loved to be there. Oh well, after Christmas I guess.
  2. The ice has only just become safe at our lake here in NW Ontario and some in the area still arent't safe. I can't imagine that someone would think Simcoe was safe for a sled.
  3. I would think that it wouldn't be to good for the O2 Sensors. You might find your check engine light on after a short while. In the long term you would probably foul plugs and the cat.
  4. I use Seafoam as a shock treatment in my snowmobile once a year at the beginning of the season to help insure the pilot jets in the carbs are clean and clear. The rest of the time, I use Marine grade Stabil in all the fuel for my boat and snowmobile.
  5. Looks like it was an old Taylorcraft BC-12, so the duct tape was probably a good sub for the fabric.
  6. Not sure if it's the best price, but it's very competitive. I'd buy it at that price.
  7. A secured line of credit is the cheapest way to go.
  8. Funny thing. Calculus is what drove me to drinking!
  9. Always use Sea Foam or fuel stabilizer. Drain all the gas at seasons end and run it till it stops. Remove spark plug a fog the cylinder and then put plug back. The small 2 stroke carbs are very sensitive to dirt, deposits, poor mixes of gas/oil etc. Paying attention to the fuel system is one way to have years of trouble free running.
  10. The home inspection industry is full of con artists. Unfortunately there's no regulation in that industry and to take legal action usually would end up costing more than it would be worth. When buying a home, the better thing to do, is to have the previous owners sign a disclosure statement which is a legal document and gives you stronger legal recourse if there are any pre-existing problems. Still not ideal, but better and cheaper than trusting some crooked home inspector.
  11. I like the sound of that Sufix 832. I'll have to try and find some when change my line this spring. Any info on who will be handling it?
  12. Great picture. I've seen them take that many peanuts before and I still find it amazing how they do it.
  13. I love my Frabill. Three years of extensive use and not one problem.
  14. Another classic out of the Peg. http://www.youtube.c...h?v=-jSohAiIEqg
  15. I remember watching that as a kid. It still has to be one of the top 10 funniest moments on TV.
  16. Classic stuff. Thanks for the link.
  17. I agree with this, except not everyone has access to natural gas. The cheapest form of heating & cooling to run is Geothermal. Unfortunately the initial investment is considerable, but as energy prices rise the payback periods will become shorter and shorter.
  18. I have 2 Oil Filled Rads that I use in late fall and early spring when I don't want to run our oil fired boiler for our in floor heating. They will use a fair amount of power and they do take time to get up to temp so turning them on and off frequently isn't that practical. For us, once they are up to temp. (I set them at 23c) they keep our 1600 sq/ft warm during those transitional periods.
  19. As other have said, the great thing about a flasher is that you can see your hook and watch as fish approach it. It certainly adds to the whole ice fishing experience. I personally have a FL-8 Vexlar, which some have said here is only good up to 30 feet. I use mine to fish for lakers in water up to 80 feet with no problems. I've also have friends with other makes and models, Marcum's and Hummingbirds and they all are good. All I can say is once you get use to ice fishing with a flasher, it will be hard not to.
  20. I've had a Frabill Fortress 3 man (really only a comfortable for two) for 3 years and have had no problems. Depending on the weather, we can get a little condensation sometimes, but it's never really a problem. We live on a lake a so we use this shack a lot 3 to 5 times a week, as soon as the ice is good. When I bought the portable, I looked at the sleighs and liked the depth and design of the Frabill. I tow it long distance to remote lakes and it handles all my gear no problem.
  21. Here are a couple of Canucks that we've missed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-G4onYzITc
